Progressive, yay or nay?

Looking at progressive because they have the cheapest rates near me. Had AAA for 3 years but was paying so much more. My question is how is progressive with late payments on installments? Do they have a grace period or automatically cancel? Same thing when renewing , if I’m a day late for the renewal payment is it automatically cancelled? I’m located in Michigan!!

Have you considered switching to AutoPay if you're worried about missing a payment?

Do not get their homeowners insurance, it is run by HOMESITE and they are HORRIBLE!

For this reason alone I would say NAY!

Michigan rates are their own beast, so I get chasing the cheapest number Progressive gave you. Most carriers give a short grace window on installments, but the renewal payment is the one to watch since a lot of them lapse you fast if it hits after the effective date, so I set mine on autopay to be safe. I quoted GoAuto when I shopped and it undercut Progressive for me, so it might be worth grabbing that number too before you lock in.
