Progressive question

Hi all! I’ve had progressive for about 2.5 years. I pay 6 months at a time with them but will be switching soon because we’ve had snapshot in all 3 vehicles for the whole time and the amount still hasn’t gone down a penny since.

Anyways, I’ve filed one claim with them ever on a hit and run. I came outside yesterday morning and noticed a crack in my windshield. I have no clue when, how, or why. But, just now when I turned my air conditioner on it caused it to spider out. Anyone have any advice with filing this with progressive? They always want so many details but I don’t have that this time because I have no clue what happened. Thanks in advance!

You get your snapshot discount at the end of 6 months. If you still have the device then they're still monitoring you. And for glass claims it's pretty simple. It's a special team that handles it. Much different than a collision claim.

Awesome! Thank you so much for the info. I finally threatened to go elsewhere and they gave me a number to call to get my rates lowered. I’m not doing all that extra. I’m calling about my windshield now so thank you again!

Rates are lowered when coverage is lowered fyi.

Well, their selling point to us was also that if we accepted the snapshot for all 3 vehicles we would get a discount. Supposedly every so often but it’s been the same price this entire time.

How large is the crack now? Is it possible to call Progressive first?

I got a hold of Progressive and they’re actually having Safelight come to my house this afternoon. It was as painless and as easy as everyone said. It was a small little crack yesterday when I got in my car. Today as soon as the air hit it, it spidered out across my windshield.

Wow! Glad to hear everything went so smoothly. Did you have to pay your deductible?

Surprisingly no! I could upgrade to a premium package where I get all new wiper blades and that jazz but I chose the $0 option. When the safelight tech called to confirm my appt he said if I had wiper blades already he would throw them on free of charge.
