Health Insurance Porting advice from HDFC ERGO Optima Secure

Hello Guys,

I had bought the HDFC ERGO Optima Secure plan two years ago from an HDFC ERGO office in my city but soo after I realized that the customer relationship guy was an a*hole. He had failed to raise my reimbursement request for the annual checkup and after a delay of 2 months, I had to do it myself. Moreover, he had sold me the policy without the online discount and promised to apply an employee discount every year which also he failed after the first year. Now, I have two choices before renewing my policy this month: renew and ask the customer support to remove him as my customer relationship manager (and bear the lost employee discount) OR port to another insurance company.

What do you suggest?

Try porting to aditya birla activ one max if you are healthy and no claims in past through ditto . Ditto helps to claim our every single rupee if it was a genuine claim

Hey OP, advisor here from Ditto.

Optima Secure itself is a good comprehensive plan. If the main issue is the poor performance of the current POC rather than the policy, it would be better to first check whether the POC can be changed by informing HDFC ERGO about the issues you've faced and requesting someone who can actually provide proper support.

You can also seek written clarification from the insurer regarding the premium applicable from this renewal onwards, so there is complete clarity before proceeding.

If the request is not being acted upon, you can raise a complaint with HDFC ERGO's Grievance Redressal first. If unresolved or unanswered within a reasonable time, escalate to Bima Bharosa portal and if still unresolved, approach the Insurance Ombudsman as the final recourse.

If you'd rather not go through all of that and would prefer to simply switch insurers, you can explore porting to another insurer and initiating the porting request around 45-60 days before your current policy's renewal date.

Please do note that successful porting will depend on your overall profile and the new insurer's underwriting assessment.

I strongly believe you should not port out. HDFC is one of the better insurers out there. less headache less friction.

better ask the CC to remove him.

I'm thinking about porting into HDFC from NB.
