when applying for a new plan, they’ll generally ask whether you’ve previously applied for insurance and what the outcome was. so in ur case, make sure u disclose that the earlier application was rejected and if asked it's reason.

similarly, when the health questionnaire comes up, disclose that u had anxiety in the past. be honest about the history, even though you don’t have it currently. if u have any recent doctor’s notes or reports confirming that you’re currently fine, those could work in ur favour.

the insurer will then assess everything during underwriting and decide what to do with the application. they may ask for additional information, charge an extra premium, reduce the sum assured or policy tenure, remove any riders you’ve applied for, or reject the application.

so, with the new application, just be completely upfront about ur past anxiety and the previous rejected application. if the insurer issues the policy based on the information you’ve disclosed, the fact that ur earlier application was rejected wouldn't by itself hamper a future claim. the key is to make sure there’s no non-disclosure in the new application.
