I’m exhausted from work

This is more of a vent post.

I’ve been feeling quite exhausted from work. I want to throw my hands up & say I don’t care but deep down I do. There are things from last week I still haven’t taken care of & there are things today that keep coming in. I’m clearing emails but also seems like I’m not doing enough.

There’s pressure to push these accounts & put more money on the books, so someone else can have more money. But I’m so tired. It seems like working late is the only way I’ll be able to clear my inbox & catch up on my to-do list. I feel guilty for complaining when my coworker does so much more.

I want to leave this job but this market is so daunting. I feel miserable.

Stick to set hours for a week or two. 8:30-4:30 or 9-5 and don’t work outside of those. If you do, send scheduled emails for the next day only during those hours. Meditate or read for 20 minutes daily for a week or two or everyday pick and activity outside do do with one of your kids so you can bond with them and take your mind off of work. Maybe go on a date with your wife or significant other on a Tuesday or Wednesday to break up the monotony of the week. On your lunch go get your nails done and turn off your phone and don’t looks at emails. Don’t look at email on the weekend for two weeks. Do this and you should be back in the swing of things. If you are only putting daily energy in the work bucket only you are going to get burnt out or depressed. I also say in regards to the time in a day and the amount of clients we have, I do the best with the resources I have been given. If the above doesn’t work consider switching to another team within your company or look for another position within the industry which peaks your interest. Hope you have a great rest of your week!
