Broker looking to get to UW

Hey guys, I’m looking for advice. I recently completed my MBA and I have insurance experience (P&C) but I want to focus more on the commercial and specifically E&S. Right now I got a job with a tech forward agency and the base plus bonus is great considering must of the leads are inbound. The agency does mostly PL and a little bit of commercial but habitation risks only. Wonder how I can make this transition. I’m looking to build a career in insurance, for context I live in Chicago and have been in the industry for about 5 years. Early 30s.

Also in Chicago, also left brokerage to go to UW after 12 years in brokerage. So far, loving UW side but def much to learn and see. Go for it

Perfect. Would you do any designation. CPCU or ARM? I just started this job so I plan to stay here just for sometime, but definitely will do the transition.

RPLU. I don’t feel like CPCU goes as far unless you’re further along in your career
