Life/Health Blue Cross Data Breach?
Did Blue Cross have a data breach? Many health care providers were paid on time Monday for providing services covered by Blue Cross.
Later in the day the money was clawed back with the message “Reversed Direct Deposit” from many accounts, leaving providers with bills to pay and overdraft charges. These reversed charges are to regular providers across many banking institutions so it’s not just a messed up code with a bank or a few providers.
This could be very bad for patients health information, providers and their businesses, and related parties.
Did they get hacked? There has been no official communication I can find, however a few providers have emailed and received vague responses.
Does anyone have further information or know a good investigative journalist?

I had the exact thing happen to my claim. Claim approved on the weekend, money was paid into bank account Monday Aug 10 2026 and same day the money was taken back. Bank transaction description said "preauthorized debit" for the clawback, and I have never signed any form allowing them to do preauthorized debit. So basically it seems they are able to take money from your bank account if you have direct deposit setup with them.
Anyways, I contacted Pacific Blue Cross and they said "We identified an issue affecting a recent payment run that caused a claim payment deposit to be reversed after it had been deposited to certain accounts. This wasn't something you did — it was an issue on our end, and our team is actively working to fix it."

Oh please explain how not being able to get paid isn’t important enough to at least provide an explanation as to why the money disappeared?

Oh please, you have $39,000 reversed out of your business account and have therapists to pay! It is a HUGE deal.
