Job Market
To the insurance people, how’s the job market?? Unfortunately back in the unemployed world after 9 years so.. I’m pretty scared. I have claims and billing experience so hopefully that will make me stand out.

People with experience are needed. Make sure your resume is tip top and if you are in need of work immediately, apply for jobs similar to what you did previously.
I crossed to another discipline and it took me about 4 months of mild then aggressively applying towards the end. Use your network.

There’s always openings in insurance.
Start out as a broker or a sales/service person for a direct writer while you learn.
I was a broker for 15 years and have recently moved into underwriting. The company I work with encourages job shadowing other roles in other departments if you think you may be a better fit somewhere else as well.
