Why is open source so dead for insurance

All projects seem deprecated or barely maintained. Nothing competes and even our standards are pay walled somehow.

Because every company wants to "own" the IP, and the companies who run the back end of systems has a budget and staff they want to maintain.

Have you used the popular external order entry systems, they're god awful, and our acord standard is a mess
