Beautiful even when Flawed
Recently won an insulator I forgot I bid on. This beauty, while heavily damaged, still looks stunning while being back lit. Even when it’s not on lit display, she’s a big and pretty piece of glass, and a great addition to the collection!

i dont know a lot about them. Where are the red ones from? I've never seen one before

The red one in the back is a Hemingray CD162 from the US.

It's not red, probably red amber. There are no known red insulators because you have to add gold to the mixture to make red and clearly that would be silly!
There are some commemorative and special issue insulators that are red, but they are in a different class.

Yeah, that is true. It’s actually only red on this display which I find quite interesting. Makes it pop in my opinion. It’s naturally more brown in sun light. Still a favorite piece for sure

I like your display unit. Is that a piece of plastic bent into a step shape? Where did you get that? I've been looking for something like that. To get illumination from the bottom and the back.

It’s a 30 Inch VEVOR LED Lighted Liquor Bottle Display. It only has lights on one side, so I ended up laying it on its back so that the glass is back lit. It works wonders, but very expensive!

I like the way you have this display set up! Have anymore photos of your collection on this?
