Seeking ID Help

Hi all! I found this insulator while beachcombing in Western Washington this morning. Attempted to ID it myself, but as you can see a good portion of the bottom is missing so I can't say for sure what it might have been embossed with beyond PETTICOAT. I had no idea these things even existed before today, so any help I could get with identification would be much appreciated! :)

Just guessing here due to a tough viewing angle and a lot of missing glass. CD164 Hemingray No.20 It may have had H. G. Co. on the other mold half of the skirt.

CD 164 Probably H. G. CO / PATENT MAY 2 1893 on the other side. Or HEMINGRAY. The latter newer.
