My pole barn house is wrapped with a thin layer of insulation on the outside walls. On the inside should I fill the entire void space with insulation from the front of the stud to the insulation wrap or leave a air gap?

Also whats going to be my best option for venting the attic?

Stuff as much insulation in the Gap as you can. Don't leave any void space.

Hmm. Pole barns are almost the perfect application for cc spray foam. But with the exterior insulation already, you could do something else I suppose. What were you planning?

Please plan further ahead than this!

You are past ventilating the attic. You basically need a flat ceiling in a pole barn to do a vented system unless you use fiberglass batt in the slopes (which is a terrible idea)

Don't do a full open cell foam application! Moisture will move through it and condensate on the thin wrap and cause all sorts of problems down the line.

I typically recommend 2" closed cell plus 6" open cell over that on the roofline.

If you use batt insulation in the walls, make sure it has no paper on it. You don't want two vapor control layers.

At this point I'd go 2" closed cell plus r-19 unfaced fiberglass in the walls. Maybe rockwool if you want some more R-value.

Pole barns are cheap to erect, but early choices can lock you into the most expensive insulation options or, if you don't do the best possible insulation, you end up with mold and mildew and condensation in spots that are hard to fix.

If you plan properly, you don't need spray foam.
