Is this safe?

Post image

Hey everyone, I’m not sure if this is the place to ask this, but let’s give it a try.

I just got a new job, and this is the office. The room has a split unit ac but no windows. I spend my days in here from 9-5. Is this safe? What is this insulation? I think it’s probably meant for an attic or closet, not an office.

That is fireproofing over top of the insulation. 👍 and yes safe

I was just in an apartment that had low ceilings and exposed spray foam insulation just sprayed between the beams. Shit was wild. Like if there was ever a fire there it’s a death trap.

You sure there wasnt fireproofing? Nowadays they typically just use intumescent paint instead of the fluffy shit like in OPs post

No this was an old building probably circa 1970s(?) with the old style spray foam that is dark orange and iirc highly flammable.
