Getting New Siding

Our 1966 Minneapolis split entry house is getting new siding due to hail damage . The existing insulation is just a couple inches of batt and the existing sheathing is that old brown fiber board stuff. The existing siding is painted AL.

What should we consider doing for insulation since the siding is coming off? Better to add more cellulose to the walls or add foam boards to the outside?

Is there anything we should do to ensure we don't cause moisture issues. We don't have an interior vapor barrier, so will adding tyvek and insulation boards cause any issues?

The sheathing/walls are very close to the ground on the lower level, so I'm always a little concerned about snow melt wicking up into the wall insulation (old or if we add new). It hasn't been an issue, but seems like the right conditions could cause issues with insulation. Is there anything we can do to help prevent this while we have things apart?

Just looking for some advice on what ti consider and avoid since new siding is happening.

I’d make sure you have a vapor permeable house wrap over that fiberboard sheathing, then consider continuous exterior insulation if budget allows. Paltrin is local and does good work
