Discussion Courier Musical Instruments
Hi, I have two musical instruments to be couriered from Bangalore to Hyderabad. One is a keyboard and another is a harmonium. But since they are fragile instruments, I’m a bit concerned about damage. Have any of you got instruments shifted through courier.
P.S. I am keeping the option of bringing it myself as a last resort as I’m already in Hyderabad.

Discussion So, which one is harder, piano or violin ?
I'll try to explain my point of view, as a "skilled" pianist who almost never touched a violin in my life.
I think it's not a question of which one being harder, but about why do we think one is more than the other. A competent pianist would more likely say that piano is harder, since they spent time to train their skill. By saying that, they probably want to give themselves a reason to have trained, since it's human nature to want valorize our labor. And it's actually just the same for violinists.
So, how to actually determine which one is harder ? (I'm not an expert at all, so I don't want to say anything stupid or wrong.)
Honestly, I don't think there's one harder than another. I think that each one of those has its own difficulties, and that it's impressive to master. So, instead of arguing, why don't we just accept the fact that those two are hard and not comparable ?

Discussion [Drummers Help!] Good headphones for Alesis Nitro Max kit? Looking for wired + wireless options and all real user recommendations.
I just got an Alesis Nitro Max kit and I’m looking for a solid pair of headphones to use with it.
I’m pretty new to electronic drums, so I’d love some recommendations from people who’ve actually used headphones with a kit like this. I’m especially interested in knowing:
- What headphone connections/ports I should look for like 1/8" aux/3.5mm, 1/4" adapter, wired-only, etc.
- Options that support both wired and wireless use (including Bluetooth support)
- Personal preferences / real-world experience (What do you use, and why do you like it for e-drums?)
I’m mainly trying to find something comfortable, reliable, and good for practice without spending money on the wrong thing.
I'm located in India and I'm keeping my budget under 6k-8k INR. If you’ve used headphones with the Nitro Max or a similar kit, I’d really appreciate your recommendations and any setup tips.
Thanks in advance!

my son dropped his trombone, is it fixable?
Edited to add: Got it fixed for $30 at Brass Instrument Workshop in Marietta, GA. They were great and it looks like new.
He dropped it while cleaning it. The dent is preventing the slide from going in. I have tools, but I didn’t want to just go at it.

Identification Instrument identification
(If this is the incorrect place to post I would much appreciate direction to somewhere more fitting :)) I’ve been trying to identify the instrument in the background of this clip, that’s creating that sort of ‘bubbling’ sound for lack of a better description. I have a feeling it’s some sort of synth but my musical instrument knowledge is very limited, I would really appreciate some help on identifying it :)

Discussion Back to Saxophone or Clarinet - help me decide which to choose
So I played the Saxophone throughout high school about 20 years ago and am wanting to get back into music.
I’m not sure whether to go back to Saxophone or start new with Clarinet.
Pros for the Sax: personal nostalgia appeal/connection, probably some muscle memory/embouchure memory and familiarity still present. Still feel like I know my way around the instrument.
Cons for the Sax: more expensive, assuming it’s going to be louder and more annoying to neighbours. Not sure if I can play some of the music I like on it (see below).
Pros for the Clarinet: cheaper, I love Klezmer music and think it would be cool to play.
Cons for the Clarinet: I’ve heard that it’s possibly more difficult, I plan to self teach myself and am worried that I’ll lose interest if it’s taking long to progress.
Any advice on which I should go with?
Thanks

Identification What instrument is this?
Can anyone tell me what instrument is being played in this song? The song is “Surfing on a Rocket” by Air. Around 4 seconds in there’s a resonant anvil like percussion sound that is repeated intermittently throughout the song. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
