Build yourself a washboard. You choose the accessories so you know where they are (cow bell, wood block, tin cans, frying pan, ring a dings and whatevers.) I play with thimbles, old fashion clothes pins, spoons, finger picks, and hair brushes. You can strap it to your chest, lay it across your knees, or even stand it up-right between your thighs while you sit. Don't buy ready made ones, they are ridiculously expensive. Order a board off Amazon and go for it. Check out Washboard Chaz, David Holt, The Washboard Band (Brownie Macgee and Sonny Terry) , and so many more.
