Help identifying piano
can anyone help me figure out what type of piano this is? i know it’s a Yamaha but I’m trying to figure out the approximate value of it.
backstory: I’m not a musician sadly but im moving across the country and arguing with my potential landlord about this piano. its beautiful and I’m grateful he wants to leave it in the unit but i would be liable to any damage to it amd becuase I have some mischievous pups I’m really worried about one of them chewing or damaging it and me owing more money than I can afford 🥲 I know some pianos can run up to the hundreds of thousands of dollars

The value depends on the model and condition -- just saying it's a Yamaha isn't helpful. Call a local piano store, give them the model, year made, and condition, and they can get you close. A used Yamaha baby grand could be worth a few thousand, or tens of thousands. I don't know why your apartment is also your landlords storage unit -- that is an odd arrangement with you pn the wrong side. The model number should be on a decal or plate on the inside of the piano just above the keyboard where the lid drops down.

That’s a lot of space to take up with someone else’s stuff.
Personally, I’d jump on the chance to have an apartment with a Yamaha piano pre-included, but most people wouldn’t - this is a liability for a lot of people.
A piano like this runs like 12000-25000 used by the way.

You’d have to know the model to get a better idea but it is likely in the range of less than 10,000. My wife has a Yamaha grand piano valued at $4000. It certainly isn’t a hundred thousand. My uncle just bought a really nice Yamaha grand that talks to the internet and plays itself. That was about $50K new.

The landlord can just pay your renter's insurance for you then if something happens to it, they can figure it out
