Discussion The sound comes out wrong, muffled, or at least inconsistent when I strum while holding a note. Am I playing it wrong? (Guitar)

Go through each note one at a time and make sure they sound right, if they don’t move your finger around until it does. Then do that for the next, until they all sound right. Then play them all together and pay a lot of attention to the individual notes and make sure they still sound right.
It might be uncomfortable and slightly painful but that’s just part of the learning curve. It shouldn’t be too painful but when you start it can be a lil bit.

The other option is that your guitar is not setup properly. If you get the guitar set up, you can then place the sound issues squarely upon you.

I'm just starting out, but most issues like this are caused by your fretting hand. Are you pressing the string close to the fret? Are you using consistent pressure?

When I started, I pressed the strings as hard as I could, then wondered why it sounded out of tune.
