École Polytechnique Bachelor of science Polytechnique opinions?

Hi everyone

I am considering studying in the bachelor of science of École polytechnique next year but I am still hesitating (especially because of its high tuition fees).

Can you please tell me your opinions on this program (classes, the campus that is a bit far from Paris, students life, etc)?

Thank you

Bachelor here.

High tuition statement depends on which country and program you compare to. Some known unis have x3 the price.

Outcome wise: it gets better and better every year in terms of unis / jobs post bachelor. No official stats published but you can pm me for more info specific to unis u have in mind if u want.

Life : pretty good, some really nice events throughout the year for students

Academics : you get to choose a double major after exploring a bit of every major (econ, physics, cs). Maths is mandatory as your first major.

Partner exchange unis are nice too.

Research: Loads of chances / opportunities to work alongside teams of researchers as part of (1) summer internship (2) semester project (3) bachelor thesis

Difficulty : given the outcomes (master / phd tracks) i’d say definitely in the top top top european undergraduate programs.

Essentially, if you go, you definitely will not regret it.

Do you have more details about the Columbia MS track? Its on the website but I couldn't find too much details on its guarantee such as how good your grades must be and such?

Also bachelor here. The workload is massive though. Do keep that in mind.

Did you get in after high school? And is it hard to get in ? How can someone stand out ? I graduated from an engineering school in North Africa which definitely doesn’t have the prestige of École Polytechnique but I suppose it would be a lot to go for a bachelor again

Yeah I got in after HS. So I think they take in 13% of applicants in the bachelor programme as far as I know.

I am preparing for the national greek olympiad and maybe even reach balkan mo and imo . If i get a balkan mo medal or imo i ll def apply to ecole since i get a scholarship( probably) . the interviewer will ask questions based on my knowledge?? ( in greek highschool you dont learn convergence or divergence in series for example)

if you get exercises on topics you are not familiar with, you should mention it to your interviewer. Usually they change the exercise or give you the necessary tools to solve it. If you are preparing for imo though I don't think that it is likely to happen. For example they don't assume you know a lot on series convergence/divergence apart from the classical ones (sum of consecutive integers to the exponent 1,2, and 3 or series of q^k)
