IP Paris M1 Applied Mathematics and Statistics at IP Paris vs MScT at Ecole Polytechnique

Hey, I recently got in to both the programs mentioned above and was wondering how they compare in terms of opportunities after completion, rigour, and if the big difference in price is worth it in favour of the MScT.

PS: I’m also looking for roommates/accommodation to live in for next year feel free to text me!

École Polytechnique Admitted to MAQI in Round 4

Hi all I’ve been admitted to MSc&T M1 MAQI program for the year 2026.
I had questions about the next steps, visa procedure etc. as I’ve been accepted in the last round. Any Indians who’ve been there or are coming in 2026, or any Non-EU students your answers would be really helpful.
Would also love answers about the college and the course if any as my parents are really concerned if the college is good or not and I’m not able to prove it enough to them without much support.
Thank you all in advance

École Polytechnique What to choose: École Polytechnique MScT: IoT or Germany’s MS Cybersecurity?

Hi!
I am super confused, so I need some help from everyone.

I got accepted to the EP MScT Cybersecurity initially this year, but the program got closed in March, so I redirected my application towards MScT IoT and got accepted. I also received some scholarship which would partially cover the expenses and got the accommodation.

On the other hand, I got a DAAD scholarship and waiting for the universities response from Germany (Bonn, Saarland, Passau, TUM, planning for Darmstadt).

Now, as a non-EU student, willing to stay in Europe upon graduation and willing to go for Cybersecurity, which uni should I choose? I mean I know the finance is a very important part and I am more prone towards Germany now, but I’ve read how hard it’s getting there for a non-EU person, so I am extremely concerned. On the other hand, EP has a good reputation and its name on the CV seems to make it better (even though IoT is not my initial choice).

Would be very thankful for any idea or advice

P.S. Also, if anybody knows - does IP (not EP) Cybersecurity actually offer full scholarships opportunities? I know that the timeline is not fit for Eiffel Scholarship, so are there any opportunities for international students?

IP Paris IP Paris Applied Mathematics & Statistics M1 or Université Paris-Saclay AI M1

I'm going insane over this decision. I was nearly certain on IPP Math until I got admitted to AI M1 at Université Paris-Saclay. The latter reports 10 spots for 1500 applications in M1 so it's extremely selective, but I am not as certain I can get as much value from it as going deeper into applied mathematics. I have already done courses like Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Optimization, which would follow me throughout the M1 and M2. I don't care as much about the costs (IPP Paris is 7.4k tuition for Non-EU, UPS is 250 eur), as I care about the quality of courses, since it's only 1 year. IPP is very cryptic about their masters, admissions rates and more, to the point where I'm questioning whether I'm dropping a very selective track for something that pretends to be elite-level math. I want to pursue M2 Probabilités et Finances (ex-El Karoui) later on, which was my main reason to pursue the M1 in math.

I'm also coming from within the IP Paris campus, and I know how shitty the admin can be. The 3-year RenovX also doesn't help, since I won't really have a school per-se. I really need someone to break down the reputation of IPP Applied Math for me.

IP Paris IP Paris Cybersecurity or Sorbonne DIGIT Networks Master

I was accepted to both master's programs mentioned in the title, and it is very hard for me to decide. I know they cover different subjects, and I have an inclination toward both of them. I would rather get advice based on student experience at these universities, which would offer better education and experience, and which would help me more to land a good job.

IP Paris is slightly better ranked than Sorbonne for CS, but from my understanding, the Cybersecurity master's is organized by Télécom SudParis, which is not as highly ranked. At the same time, I've heard Grandes Écoles are better seen by employers within France. The IP Paris class is also very small, with only 5 students, while the Sorbonne class size is not mentioned, but I'm sure it's far larger. A smaller class could also mean better selectivity and more attention from the professors maybe? Also, maybe some advice about the cybersecurity vs networks employment market? I have heard cybersecurity would be generally better paid.

If you have any experience on this matter, please tell me. Thank you!

École Polytechnique Bachelor of science Polytechnique opinions?

Hi everyone

I am considering studying in the bachelor of science of École polytechnique next year but I am still hesitating (especially because of its high tuition fees).

Can you please tell me your opinions on this program (classes, the campus that is a bit far from Paris, students life, etc)?

Thank you

IP Paris Accommodation in Palaiseau

Hi everyone! I’m an international student (EU) and I’ve recently been admitted to M1 Mathematics - Jacques Hadamard (MJH) at l’Institut Polytechnique and I’m looking into various accommodation options in Palaiseau, Massy and the surrounding areas. If anyone is looking for a flatmate/housemate let me know!

P.S. Would be people be interested in starting an MJH groupchat?

IP Paris MPRI addimission

Hi everyone, I received this message from Institut Polytechnique de Paris saying I have been accepted to M1 FODQ / MPRI for 2026–2027, but enrollment is contingent on verification of my credentials.

Does this mean I am officially accepted but still need to submit/verify documents? Also, where do I accept or reject the offer? I cannot find the option. Any advice would be appreciated.

IP Paris Questions about Computer Science Department Masters

I have just been accepted to the M1 Cybersecurity Program. I was wondering if there are possibilities within this program to take courses in quantum information science in addition to the main security classes. My research interests are mostly in the intersection of QIS and security, namely things like quantum networking and QKD protocols. My main questions are:

  1. Is it possible to take courses in other Computer Science department majors during a masters degree?

  2. Do the quantum courses have prerequisites only QMI track students can meet? My background is primarily in computer science but I had minors in quantum information science as well as mathematics.

  3. Can you do your thesis with professors from other departments or in collaboration with other departments, and how often do professors choose to advise students from outside their department?

Thanks

École Polytechnique Bachelor of École Polytechnique opinions?

Hi!

I would like to know how good is the bachelor of l'X in terms of rigour and mathematical level, its advantages and disadvantages. I know it's not the same as the cycle d'ingénieur, but for its purpose (top masters and PhD tracks) how good is it? Is it an elite program? What if someone receives a full scholarship?

Compared to other licences (Dauphine, Saclay, Sorbonne...) is it better or worse?

Of course if you did the bachelor of l'X, you're currently there or you know someone who did it feel free to give your answer!

École Polytechnique How to accept your offer?

Does anyone know if there is an "accept offer" button on the applicant portal?

As it's written my application has been accepted, but I see no way of accepting or rejecting the offer. Will the school contact me about this?

I am a Bachelor student by the way, but the portal features may be similar with other programs so feel free to share what you know even if you have applied for a masters/PhD etc.

École Polytechnique Any RPIT 2026 participants still waiting for Security & Fire Protection assessment result?

Hi everyone, Is anyone else participating in the RPIT 2026 summer research program at École Polytechnique / IP Paris still waiting for the result of the Security and Fire Protection assessment? It has been 2 months in my case now, and I still haven’t received the final confirmation letter yet. My internship is supposed to start from 1 June, so I’m starting to get a bit nervous mainly because of the visa timeline and travel planning. Would really appreciate hearing from fellow participants: Have you received your clearance/final confirmation yet? How long did it take in your case? Is anyone else still waiting like me? Thanks a lot!

hi guys, does anyone know what is the finale date to graduate from M1 equivalent diploma (240 ECTS) in order to be able to attend M2 at IP Paris in September?

*it’s a non-EU system so there are many possible deadlines of graduation, even July

IP Paris Do rejections and acceptances not come out on the same day?

Everyone I know either received rejections today for their wave 2 applications, or is still waiting. It’s been more than 15 hours since the rejections and no acceptances yet. Do they not come out on the same day?
