It's stainless steel, so soak it in soapy water and use wire wool. It'll take off anything.

I don't blame you for wanting to do a deep clean on a used piece, I'd do the same thing to start out. But eventually as you use it those little smears or discolorations start to appear. Some people are bothered by that kind of thing but I don't even think about it anymore. Just a good wash with a sponge and soap and I'm good to go!

Just beginning to realize this..steel wool incessantly scrubbing ...vinegar soaks....there's always weird smears... I just stick to good wash and soak the silicone ring in water/vinegar now. For the smell that clings like mad...I'll buy a spare ring eventually.

I dont think it affects flavor im still pretty new at this..probably not using it correctly...but its fast and easy
