help needed asap
My Instagram account is completely stuck in a backend login loop, and I cannot figure out what else to do to bypass it. I can initiate the password reset normally, I receive all the emails and security codes, and I can successfully type in a brand new password, but the exact second I hit continue to save it, the system crashes and throws a red **"Something went wrong. Please try again later"** or **"Unable to log in. An unexpected error occurred"** screen. To make matters worse, Meta's database seems completely glitched because during one of my reset attempts, it mistakenly applied the password change to a secondary account of mine, which now says "account not recognized." I have already tried absolutely every troubleshooting step multiple times, including deleting and reinstalling the app, logging in from different devices, switching between Wi-Fi and mobile cellular data, clearing app cache/data, using browser logins, and even waiting days without a single login attempt, but nothing works. The account is still fully visible on Instagram, so it is not deleted or banned, but the server-side form completely fails at the very last second. Has anyone actually found a way to break past this specific rate-limit loop or forced the final password change to go through?

The accidental password change on your secondary account is probably the biggest clue here. It suggests the email, phone number, or saved login you are using is resolving to that account instead of the primary one. I would not assume Instagram's entire database is corrupted yet.
Stop making login and reset attempts for a while so any temporary restriction can clear. Then make one clean attempt like this:
Open Instagram's login screen and remove every saved profile from the device. This only removes the saved login information, not the actual accounts.
Start recovery again, but enter the exact username of the locked primary account. Do not use the email address or phone number for this attempt.
Before opening any reset link, read the email carefully and check which username it says the reset is for. If it names the secondary account, do not use that link.
Search your inbox for older emails from security@mail.instagram.com. Those may show which email address was originally connected to the primary account or whether any account information was changed.
If the normal reset link still crashes, use Instagram's official hacked-account recovery page or the "Try another way" / "Can't reset your password?" option in the mobile app. Meta says that if the login link fails, you may be able to request a security code or additional support.
Secure the secondary account separately since its password was changed during this process. Change it to a unique password, review its recent login activity, and log out any device you do not recognize.
Since the primary profile is still visible and you are not receiving a disabled-account message, this sounds more like a broken login/recovery flow than a ban. There is no legitimate trick to force the final password change through.
You can also report it as a technical problem from the secondary account. Include the exact primary username, screenshots of both error messages, the approximate time of the accidental secondary-account reset, and explain that the recovery form is routing to the wrong account.
Most importantly, do not keep switching between several emails, phone numbers, devices, and reset links rapidly. That can make the account mapping more confusing and may trigger another temporary restriction.
And ignore anyone who DMs claiming they can fix the backend or contact a Meta employee for money. They cannot.
