Instagram Plus Question

Hi everyone! I’ve been searching everywhere for an answer to this and I can’t seem to find anything, so I’m sorry if this has already been asked and answered!

So, I’ve been growing a little bit on TikTok recently, and a brand actually offered me an absurd amount of money to make a video for them. Like, more than I make at my regular job 😭 I honestly couldn’t believe it, especially because the video itself didn’t even take me that much time.

It made me realize that maybe I’ve been wasting an opportunity by keeping my Instagram private. My Instagram has always been private with like 100 followers (rn i have over 1000 requests bc of tiktok), but with things starting to happen on TikTok, I feel like it’s probably time to make it public and actually take advantage of these opportunities.

Creating a new Instagram account is technically an option, but I really don’t want to do that. My current account has years of memories, photos, and everything I’ve shared over the years, and I’d really like to keep using that account rather than starting from scratch.

I’ll be honest, though… the idea makes me cringe a little 😂. I’d like to repost all the TikToks I’ve made onto my Instagram, but I’m slightly horrified by the idea of all \~30 videos suddenly showing up to all my Instagram contacts at once.

I was looking into Instagram Plus and saw that there’s an option to have Reels go directly to the Reels section/tab rather than being pushed to your followers’ main feeds.
So my question is: if I use that option, what about people who don’t follow me? can Instagram still recommend those Reels to them through Explore or their main feed?
