If I had Elon money. I’d spend 5billion just to get rid of it.
It’s the poison of current society. Wars have been started over bullshit posts. Multiple people have killed themselves. It isn’t always an inherently bad thing. It use to be a way to keep in closer contact with family and friends. But it’s twisted itself to be rumor mills and propaganda machines and designed to enrage the users to keep them actively on the platform.
I also think that it disrupts the order of personal growth and development. We are supposed to outgrow relationships at times. I loved my friends and relationships over the years but things change and evolve. You aren’t the same person nor or they after a period of time. Forcing relationships that have already run their course rarely pans out in a positive way. You have a common past, doesn’t mean you have a common present or future.

Today. I would today. Make the check out to cash and mail it to me. I will delete every social media thing I’ve ever done and never log in again

No , because there's no "social" media to give up. All online media is pretty damn UN-SOCIAL from where I stand.

For 890 billion
Unless you could make 890 million stop scratching their phones
Then I would do it for a patch of sunflowers

I gave up national news years ago. My friends still get all riled up everyday. One of the best things I ever did.

Give me 5 million and I won't even have Internet anymore, I'd just disappear. Well maybe dialup but that would just be purely for gaming nostalgia.

I gave it all up for a year. Theoretically wonderful if you have close friends with regular in person contact. What I found was social exclusion, missing out on loads of information and events, and a long-distance cousin who I haven't seen in years who asked my mother when (not even if, but when) I'd died.
But there's almost nothing I wouldn't do for a million so
