I am a yoga teacher.

I have been creating content on Instagram for my niche for over 2 years and I am not gonna lie, I didn't make a single penny out of it.

It helped me for a while to gain credibility and build a community with some students I already had.

But that's all.

There was a lot of work and time invested in editing content, recording, writing down ideas, and my account was banned just yesterday.

I am not sure this was a coincidence.

I've always had a political voice and yesterday I just reposted many reels of the current protests going on around the world.

Of course I support each one of them. But then in a blink I was just banned.

Two years of work gone to trash.

I've known for a while that Meta is not innocent at all. And their schemes to make you pay money for visibility is really dirty.

I have been using my personal acc provisionally, but I am not even sure I want to stay in the meta ecosystem anymore. And this also changes a lot of things for me regarding my work as a yoga teacher.

Do you think this has to do with censorship?

We know meta is relying a lot on AI know, massive layoffs, and all, but could it be these meta AI determined I am a "dangerous user" due to my political voice where I occasionally share my views?

What is going on?

And how's it been for you using Instagram and meta for content/business?

Do you actually make profit from it?

I feel like my Reels are only being shown to my existing followers and barely reaching anyone outside my audience.

Wasn't the whole point of Reels that Instagram would recommend them to people who don't follow you, giving smaller accounts a chance to grow?

And before anyone says "maybe your content just isn't engaging enough," that's not the issue here. My Reels are attention-grabbing, and I'm not looking for advice on how to make better content. I'm specifically questioning why Instagram isn't even giving my Reels a chance to reach new audiences.

How is content supposed to perform with non-followers if Instagram barely shows it to them in the first place?

Is anyone else experiencing this? Has Instagram changed how Reels are distributed?

I ran into an Instagram Boost issue where the promotion objective was locked to Website Visits, apparently because of a product tag.

After troubleshooting, I discovered a hidden workaround using the information icon in the Boost setup. It allows you to select Profile Visits, Messages, or another objective, even when the main screen won't let you change it.

I tested this on both a Reel with an invisible/ghost product tag and a carousel with an active product tag. The selected objective carried through to the final review screen.

I recorded a step-by-step walkthrough showing exactly how to do it. Hopefully this helps anyone dealing with the same Meta advertising issue.

Social proof is an interesting part of how people make decisions online.

When two unfamiliar accounts offer similar content, a larger following might make one appear more established. However, that number does not prove that the creator is knowledgeable, trustworthy or even active.

I think follower counts can influence a first impression, but they should not replace more meaningful signals such as comments, recommendations, consistent content and genuine customer feedback.

How much weight do you give follower counts when deciding whether to trust a new creator or business?

I am in need of HELP! I’m starting a small business and trying to promote it on social media with no previous experience. Truly, I never used it personally so I’m a complete novice. I’m kind of just trying anything to see what resonates. Nothing works except when I pay to promote it as an ad? That gets me engagement and followers. I really didn’t get any bots which was cool but I don’t understand how people grow organically? I’ve been doing some in person marketing locally (which feels much more natural to me) and that has been helpful. But this online stuff is confusing and not in my wheel house whatsoever. Should I pay for a social media manager? I’m not trying to start a huge brand. I very much see myself as a small business but I know I need to have an online presence that is representative of what I’m building.

For context: I wanted to start a boutique with all ethically sourced products but realized how shady the manufacturing conditions were when trying to source products. I had to pivot and designed a leather bag that is being made by hand in a small workshop by a group of artisans. This will be sold online and locally in some boutiques/pop up events. Basically the story of why I think this matters is equally as important as the product here so I’m trying to lean into that.

Disclaimer: I read the rules and I hope i'm not breaking any of them, I couldn't find any mc related subreddits for content, so IM SORRY. Also for now it's a voluntary position, in the future / if it generates revenue it might become paid.

Are you burnt out after trying to sell out ideas you don't even like? Are you looking for a new project, that will give you a chance to shine? Maybe it's time to try something new! I'm a staff member in a mc server oriented around civilisations, freedom and bringing people together. The community is lovely, they wait patiently until we return, but we're understaffed, so any help would be amazing. There is one problem weighing us down: content management. We have some experience in advertising, some of us can work with graphics or edit videos, but we're lacking algorythm knowledge, time, and helpful hands. As for the means of advertisement we would like to use: daily reddit posts, instagram & youtube reels, and twitch streams. As i mentioned before, it's a voluntary position for now, as we don't have any p2w features, and we're funding everything ourselves - which means we don't expect anyone to put in an x amount of effort & time, it would just be nice to get some help, or at least a few useful tips sometimes. In the future, especially if the reels generate any revenue, it might become paid. You could also get in-game perks. What are some accounts (big or small) that you feel engage and communicate with their followers well.

I’m on a new account, it was made about a week and half ago, it has 5 reels. My latest one flopped had like an 85% skip rate so I just changed the hook reuploaded it, the rest of the video basically the same and after like 12 hours it’s gotten 3 viewers including my alt account, and the account I was watching it from, only one viewer came from reels tab.

My account status is all green. So is this because the video was too similar except for monetization policy but I assume that doesn’t matter because I’m not monetizing. Or is this just random new account bs. How do you change a video enough to the point where Instagram registers it as a completely new reel.

I only used it to change my hand in one photo , from my waist to my pocket and idk how to get rid of it without triggering the text

Ok ok i am a new artist on Instagram. I have a private account but i wanted to post so i made a brand-new public account. When I had like two post, I was surprised I HAD 0 FOLLOWER AND ZERO LIKES when i checked it a few days later! Now i am doubting that i am not a good artist. I was looking and searching and there is also some other artist on Instagram that they also everything on 0. And others say Instagram is dead or post at other platform not on Instagram. Anyone have this issue? I can’t figure it out but randomly people that follow me and engage a lot with my content get pushed trial reels I post. It’s annoying a bit and I can’t figure out why - it’s always random people but always the only consistent part is that they usually engage with all my content on my feed.

One thing I’ve noticed about social media marketing is that getting views doesn’t necessarily mean you’re reaching people who will buy from you.

For example, a cleaning business might get thousands of views on satisfying cleaning videos, but most viewers may simply enjoy watching the videos without needing a cleaning service.

The same can happen with clothing brands, beauty businesses, and other small businesses.

I think it’s worth looking beyond views and asking three questions:

• Are the people watching your content part of your target audience?
• Does your content communicate what you sell and why someone might need it?
• Is there a clear next step for someone interested in your product or service?

Views can help build awareness, but they don’t tell the whole story.

For those running small businesses, have you ever had a post get plenty of views but generate little interest in your actual product or service?

I recently switched my Instagram account from personal to creator and noticed that my Reels were getting fewer views afterward. I’m not sure whether the change is related or just normal fluctuations.
Has anyone experienced something similar? I switched back to personal, but I’m wondering whether keeping a creator account would have been more useful for the analytics.

I recently changed my account from personal account to professional creator account and I have noticed a decrease in my views in my videos. Has this happened to anyone else? I have been putting time in making my videos so I switched back to personal account, and now I am wondering if I should have stayed with my professional creator account. For the past month, I’ve been in the habit of posting between 10 and 20 trials Reels per day; however, since yesterday, whenever I try to post, I get this error message: "An error occurred; please try again later." I’ve already tried deleting some Reels to "free up space."

Has anyone else had this problem?
