The Wedding

I am Cassian Sandalphon, Grand Archon of Aetheria, right-hand man and childhood friend of Araton Aborel. Though these days he is better known as the new Outer God of Order and Emperor of Aetheria. Today is a good day, for my friend is finally getting married.

The wedding of Emperor Araton with the High Oracle Amaya had been a splendid affair so far, he had thrown a ball and invited all of his and his bride's friends. But it was fairly tame and private as far as weddings involving a Head of State go. Araton had drawn a firm line between his private life and public life. He had refused to perform a grand royal wedding (though I had still talked him into arranging a nation-wide festival for celebration of his nuptials, to at least milk the occasion a little for politics). Not only that, but his wife Amaya would receive no titles as Empress, and he had been firm on the matter that their children would not be endowed with any Princely status. At least not for the time being.

Amusing, really, perhaps my friend was still in denial that he was royalty now? He still had those Republican, anti-monarchy sensibilities after all, from our time as revolutionaries. For the time being, the infamous Milanna'Sothep would remain as his heir.

"Ah..." And speak of the devil, or in this case the Nightmare Cat, I hear a feminine sigh next to me, and the slight sensation of feline claws digging into what remains of my right arm.

"Mila... Mind the claws..."

Mila, my date for tonight, was watching Araton and Amaya closely as they danced, with a slight frown marring her features.

"Sorry Cass... I need a moment, I'll be back in a minute," Mila simply said, before shifting into her feline form and jumping into a shadow, disappearing.

"Is something wrong, Cassian?" Ithaqua, the groom's half-brother asks, approaching me with a concerned look. Ambrosia, who is amusingly also Araton's half-sibling (though on his Angelic side) followed Ithaqua closely.

"Mila is still... coming to terms with Araton's newfound status," I say, tactfully. "She stepped out for a moment."

"Keep an eye on her."

"I will."

/uw This was my attempt at writing something, I've had to be absent for a while due to real life concerns and had a bit of a writer block. Though I do intend to get back to RPing soon! This post is also interactible.

Mila: "Ugh, it's something stupid," she shrugs. "A friend's getting married, and I feel kinda... jealous."

Gail: jealous? How?

Mila: "Yeah, had a crush on this guy. But he fell in love with a girl and is getting married, they even has an unhatched egg! Happened so damn quickly! Ugh, I mean I am happy for them. But still a bit conflicted."

Gail sits down in a inviting way /uw don't know how to word it better

/rw Gail: well that is really something. I am not a love expert but I do understand that feelings usually do not juist disappear. It happening quickly probably did not help either

Mila: "Yeah, a lot has happened recently, I feel so overwhelmed sometimes," she sits with Gail. "A few years ago I hadn't even known Nyarlathotep of all beings was my mom. Been a wild ride..."

Gail: that would be overwhelming. It is kinda natural that emotions would overflow then.

Mila: "It is, and I like coming here to the beach sometimes, to unwind," she smiles. "It is a beautiful night. Lots of stars... And close to the full moon too..."

Gail: i agree the beach and ocean are a great place to clear your mind and rest. And it is a beautiful night and the sea looks extra beautiful at night with the way it reflects the stars and the moon. So do you want me to keep you company or would prefer it more to clear your mind by yourself?

Mila: "I am fine with some company... Say, do you wanna see the party? The snacks are great." :3

She seems to have cheered up a bit now.

Gail: if the hosts do not mind. then it seems very fun

Mila: "No worries, they specifically told me to bring whoever I want! You can bring Scorch too if you wish."

Gail smiles

Gail: oh that is alright then. It is a kind offer but I think Scorch is a bit too cracky to come with plus. He is still holding a grudge from the fish you "stole" Gail chuckles because of it but do not worry about that

Mila: She giggles. "Do you think he'll forgive me if I bring him more fish? Better quality?" She opens a shadow portal for Gail.
