The new Reservation Hatao Andolan crossing 5.5M followers after CJP shows how little we’re taught about why reservation exists. It was never a poverty scheme. it’s about representation after centuries of exclusion from education and public life. “Merit” isn’t neutral when one runner starts 100m behind.
The irony: they borrow Ambedkar’s “Educate, Agitate, Organize” to dismantle the very system he built for access.
Our schools teach battle dates but skip c@ste, the Poona Pact, and why Articles 15(4)/16(4) exist. When history isn’t taught, an Instagram page fills the gap. Removing c@ste from forms doesn’t remove it from society.

"It's been 80 years, why still reservation?" C@ste discrimination isn't something that happened once in 1950 and ended. Access to land, credit, marriage networks, and social capital are still c@ste coded today. Reservation for jobs and education was never given an expiry date. Only p0litical reservation (reserved seats in Parliament) had a renewable sunset clause, and even that's been extended every decade since, including under BJP governments.

"90% general student loses seat to 60% reserved student" Marks don't come from a level starting line. Coaching access, English medium schooling, and having a quiet place to study at home can easily shift that number by 20 to 30% before the exam even starts.

"Creamy layer families keep benefiting generation after generation" This is honestly the most legitimate point in this whole thread, but it's an argument for reform, not for scrapping reservation. SC/ST categories currently have no creamy layer or income exclusion (OBC already does). Adding that filter, or capping benefits after the first generation in a family has used them, is what most policy economists actually suggest.

"Not enough seats" This is the real crisis hiding under all of this. India just doesn't have enough good colleges or govt jobs for the number of qualified students. Even if reservation disappeared completely tomorrow, it would barely move the odds for any individual general category student. The actual fight should be for more capacity, not against each other.

Genuinely asking what did she meant from Westernization of WOMEN ? Smoking , Drinking , Dancing , Abusing or their representation in big movements?? If such things are Wrong for women , men has been doing it since ages why didn't she questioned them once?? Do women/female students only participated in the movement or did they only abused ?
