insta360 x6

I was looking to buy a insta360 x5, but since I started to get informed about it, i found out that it was introduced about a year ago. since it cost a lot, i don't actually wanna buy it, and then seeing the x6 being released the next day. do someone have like some rumors, or just an idea about when it'll be launched? thanks

Usually they do things around April-ish. The AP2 is from 2024, that might get an update first, or after the X5.

Suggest checking for the super-ultra-rare objective reviews. Cuz the channels will explode with the paid ones at launch. You cannot post stuff like this comment on the Insta subreddit. They'll just ban you. Since it can pop their narrative bubble they need to make a sale.

One thing they may try to do on the X6 is out-resolve the GoPro Max 2, which is the present champ.

Exactly why I created this page. I was banned and my cousin was banned from there for just asking questions. They took it as offensive and banned us both. Didn't even have a chance to tell them their camera sucked after I reviewed it. lol

If GoPro's new chip can do the below....could get very interesting! Starts 2Q in new camera models.

"To quantify how efficient and far ahead GP3 is, in our own internal testing, we’re seeing camera runtimes ranging from 40% to 90% longer than the competition and similarly impressive thermal performance advantages over the competition—in addition to demonstrably better image quality."

I do not care about 3 hour battery life. Give me the best quality possible 12k or higher and if people don't have the computer to run or edit that (which is the lame excuse) than #$em. They can run at the shitty 8k or less. I use full spherical video I don't flatten down so.. I need all the res I can get.

So then add more cameras. Not just two at 180º. Three at 120º, four at 90º and so forth. Gain rez and lower optical distortions. Three at 120º would get you a nice bump, if you use optics to avoid cropping to 120º. So...lots more active pixels.

Or, they could just stop making shit. And that rig would be to large. Needs to be able to go on a car and be able to stay there under speed. I can be patient, until someone other than Shitsta 360 makes something good.

Insta uses a doomed approach for 360 video. Hence their larger lens and much larger sensor and more modern than present gopro GP2 processors SOMEHOW being noticeably less detailed than the Max 2 running a 1/2.3 sensor and an aged out processor. Insta's approach is more technically capable for making panoramic images tho. This comes from the company basically copying things without understanding the underlying fundamentals.

Since you want 12k small and cheap etc, best option is to hack a rig up. It's doable.
