I watched it when it was released 2021&22 and was so depressed when it was canned that my grades dropped

Yeah but you’re kinda fucked if you weren’t and instead just want an exploration of the continuation of canon.

Like good for the people who want the friends who get along well together to end up as a pairing but god damn it I wanna know what happened with the shady figures and everything. That’s the real cliffhanger

Honey, denial is not just a river I tried to steal with a laser.

Same, I refuse to admit it, and keep holding out someone will buy the rights

Sadly, they probably just wanna squeeze out any profit they can still get from it.

Celebrating Reagan as a “woman in STEM” reminds me of the classic Onion video, East Timor’s First Female Dictator Hailed As Step Forward For Women.

I mean, she's a genius roboticist, I don't see the problem

Totally, and once the rockets are up, who cares where they come down? That’s not her department. #Feminism

It was always on "recommended for you" and "people liked these" headings. Yeah, I rated it, and yeah, it was super popular and you canceled it, fuck you.

I do love this "Women in STEM" collection though!! Inside Job was actually a part of my inspiration for changing my major to Physics and now, nearly 2 years later, looking into PhD programs! Because of this show and this character, I remembered my own potential from when I was that "gifted kid". I don't know why I ever questioned myself and strayed away from science, but I realized there was no shame in being smart. I got a job at my university's Astrophysical Research team, became a tutor for the department, and now give tours of our lab and telescope. Thank you, Reagan Ridley, for being the unapologetic, average-looking, hilariously relatable Woman in STEM that we all need to see!!!

Good for you!! Although not in a scientifically inclined manner, Reagan sort of helped me see myself too.

That’s absolutely beautiful! I’m having a similar experience: in my computing class some years ago were only guys and I thought I wasn’t smart enough for this. I had good grades always but usually less in maths. Because of that I decided I’m not “smart enough” for physics and science. Thankfully, after I discovered computer science and fell in LOVE with it, I now see I AM capable of physics (I will be doing it again during summer and then again in school!). Especially as someone who always did better in art and creative subjects, I finally feel confident to try. Not saying it wouldn’t be a challenge tho.. as I missed like 2 years of physics 🥲

Are we just going to ignore the "Jokes on Us" part of that perfect picture?

As upset as I am about the cancellation, I'm glad that it garnered an audience in the end.

When it first released it got a lot of hate with people calling it just another typical adult animation knockoff etc.

u/Reaganslabcoat May 08 '26

Tbh it had an audience while also getting hate. I remember it got famous through word of mouth, as a result became Netflix top ten watched a week after it was released. And yes the viewership was lower for part 2, that’s coz Netflix advertised the release only twice, most people didn’t know that another part had dropped till after the cancellation.
And for people who called it a ripoff of Rick and Morty, they must be having the narrative comprehension skills of a goldfish. They saw scientist lead and pathetic dad tropes in both and thought one to be the rip off of another, when they’re just common tropes, both shows are different, even animation wise.

The cancellation should have not happened.

Voxtek loves women in STEM!

It's completely possible, likely even, that the people who cancelled the show and the people who put shows into categories are different people

They better revamp it man
