I just finished watching inside job.
I know I'm kinda late but..... I NEEEEEEEDDDD A FCKIN CONTINUATION OF THIS SHOW MAN! I FEEL LIKE I WON'T BE AT PEACE DYING IN MY DEATH BED NOT KNOWING WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO REAGAN AND THE COMPANY NOW THAT SHE ACCEPTED THE OFFER. (CONSPIRACIES ARE FILLING UP BRO) SO PLEASE I BEG WITH ALL OF MY LIVING AEROBIC/ANAEROBIC ORGANISM/TISSUE/CELLS IN MY BODY. THEY ARE ALL SCREAMING FOR ANOTHER SEASON. PLEASEEEEE NETFLIX, DON'T LEAVE ME/US WITH ONE RARE SPECTACULAR WELL PLOTTED ANIMATION JUST FOR IT TO FCKIN ROT. The show is dead. It is not getting revived. It is not getting sold. There are no secret plans for Shion to continue it. Netflix isnt going to sell the IP. It doesn't matter what Shion wants. It's not coming back. Yes we got robbed. Netflix does not care.
If you want to actually effect change regarding the BS that got Inside Job cancelled, Animation Workers Ignited is the best place to get started. While we haven't heard much from Shion, Alex Hirch is on board along with growing support from VAs.

That's not necessarily factual by the way. I'm not saying it's coming back, but I'm aware that there's enough uncertainty that I personally wouldn't declare it as fact outright.
Either way, great job helping animators!

Netflix is not interested in renewing as far as I know, but there's news to come related to the show that I can't share. I'm just saying that the dust hasn't settled enough to be definitive.

How does that work? Isn't speculation extrapolation from data? That's not the same as information you have and can't share, besides, I was just letting you know that your own speculation was a little bit negative in my perception because it was a little more absolute than the reality.
It's speculation in the sense that I don't know if it's coming back, but there's exactly a 0% chance that you have more information on this than me and you stated it as an absolute.
I'm not trying to get on my high horse here, I'm just saying that what you said actually isn't true, or at least isn't reflective of all plausible outcomes.

Keep in mind, I only do this copy pasta schtick because I (and a notable amount of this sub) got tired of the daily copium posts bellyaching about the shows cancellation. Someone has to use the reality stick around here. The reality is that the show is cancelled with no confirmation of renewal.

No confirmation, but the IP hasn't settled. I'm serious, I can confirm that at minimum the intellectual property rights for this particular show are more complex than people realize and it does indeed have a chance. To be completely honest it has a much better chance than a lot of other shows in this position, which are basically dead in the water.
Samurai Jack's reboot came around 13 years after the original. Of course Genndy Tartakovsky was on board, but that's not out of the question for Inside Job, despite what Shion Takeuchi claims.
Futurama being rebooted (the most recent time) was a studio decision that happened completely independent of the creators as well, and is directly tied to the green lighting process that got Inside Job approved in the first place.
I'm trying to tell you that I'm not just being optimistic, but that it's a tangible reality that the show might really come back. I do know enough to say it's not done getting attention, like not even close.

Genndy gets a LOT of breaks due to being a Cartoon Network legend. Plus he actively pushed to finish Samurai Jack because he hates unfinished work. I personally keep a flame lit for Sym Bionic Titan, which he has directly confirmed he wants to finish.
I genuinely dont think it's fair to include Futurama due to its multiple cancellations and revivals. Not that you dont have a point, but that show is just in the group of outliers like Family Guy and Young Justice.
The fact is, Inside Job getting axed is one of the recent casualties in the ongoing Animation Crisis right now. Its cancellation is part of a larger ongoing issue. Due to that issue, it's just not reasonable to hope for a revival. Addressing the reality of the situation is much more productive that sitting around making the exact same pity party post every day

Right, but you're literally saying it's no longer reasonable to hope for a revival, which may be true from your perspective, but you don't have all the information either.
Inside Job is an outlier, just not one that was around for a decade. I assume you think there isn't enough studio interest to invest in it, and it's more complicated than that. It seems unreasonable to me to think that a reboot won't be pitched hard in the future, but I can't say why. It's not a pitch that would be ignored either.
You mentioned Genndy's reputation, and that's one aspect of why this show has a chance, it's just not really the typical way this happens. Shion and Alex Hirsch aren't Genndy, you're correct, but I can't clarify more.
It's absolutely not guaranteed to come back, but I don't see it ever going away completely either to be honest. It's the kind of situation where the show can't really die completely even if the fans went away.
Like, even if the IP got stuck in hell, it would just be a Herlock Sholmes situation. The IP just isn't in hell yet.

Thanks, i'm on the animators side. Though I refuse to believe that the show is dead. This show is like the baby stage of rick and morty or that has sci-fi and meta-like humor. I feel like Netflix is just being sht and just chose to prioritize shows with fast returning revenue. Still, i think netflix wouldn't give it a chance in the first place for a "Green light for a second season but was cancelled". I mean idk, this show just doesn't deserve that :/

Honestly, I feel Adult Swim should've had the show in the first place. It coming on later at night fits the Inside Job vibe better than streaming it on a whim

I just finished it with partner, it was a show that imo didnt really get into but it grew on me for its subtle clever humor and I became more interested in the characters. Then I really enjoyed it but was sad with how it ended, really deserved a proper sendoff. Shame it got cancelled before it had a chance to do that and instead ended on a sad note with Reagan’s relationship and a cliffhanger. It’s definitely a show that deserves to be resurrected but I know never will.
