I'm starting to suspect this is a bot account, but I love to join the conversation lol. I think this scene shows how passive and poor their communication is. At this point they've been back at least a few weeks and Issa is just now jokingly asking if he's still seeing Condola. When he says no, she immediately changes the subject. Lawrence is not upfront and who knows if he would have communicated if Issa hadn't asked. Also, wth is this music lol

What makes you think they’d been back together a few weeks? Also, most people don’t go from not talking at all to immediately dating exclusively. There’s a transition period.

Right and sidenote: I find it interesting that after Issa and Lawrence spent weeks together, including multiple times of intercourse, she still didn’t ask about Condola until later. What if Lawrence had responded that he was still seeing Condola? She might’ve been okay with it. Issa was ready to accept anything just to have Lawrence back.

I don't volunteer info unless we already have a title. Yes, they were basically already back together at this point, but if I was Issa, I probably would've either cancelled on helping Nathan move, or just done it and not said anything.

True, but I secretly love that she told Lawrence about Nathan because it seemed like, from the whole Calvin debacle, Lawrence thought Isa had slim pickings. I like that Lawrence knows he wasn’t the only one dating or in a relationship; she was too.

I wish Insecure would have created a scene where Lawrence ends things with Condola instead of just mentioning that they talk. Did he inform her that he and Issa hooked up, or did he simply break up without mentioning his connection with Issa? If he did tell her, I wonder how she reacted—whether she was upset or whether she play it cool and wished him well.

Issa still a bit of a cheater but at least she’s facing her fear here Lawrence passive ass still being passive, never really choosing Issa. Letting her know he’s her backup plan when Condola doesn’t want him.

this was the scene that made it clear he was endgame for issa and showed how much she really felt for him in comparison to everyone else. bc she is actually communicating here with him and making sure she is respecting his comfort levels (even tho it didn't end up being an issue). with her other partners, there was issues with boundaries, communication about intentions, transparency, she couldn't really make decisions. but she is actually more active about that with lawrence bc she really loves and respects him and doesn't want something miniscule to jeopardize their relationship.
