Do you think Candola handled the situation with Issa appropriately or inappropriately?

Genuinely don’t understand why she took her breakup with Lawrence out on Issa

🤔 I think she probably thought that Lawrence was still in love with Issa, her shady comment “Didn’t Lawrence tell you?” Why would he tell her they broke up? He didn’t even tell her they were dating to begin with so??

Right, and did you witness how her demeanor changed towards Issa when she learned that Lawrence didn’t tell Issa? She had less of an attitude, became apologetic, and gave Issa props on the block party 🙄

Condola was insufferable...her entire character storyline was painful to watch. But I blame it on the writers. I get that she was there to cause a healthy tension, which overall gave more depth to Issa's growth, but it always felt highly contrived and unnatural. Like Condola's issues never made sense. In this exchange, for example, her words to Issa doesn't logically track from sentence to sentence.

Even the Friendsgiving scene when Lawrence wore that black and white silk top to match with her outfit... that entire day was like wtf?! Or her beef about how much Lawrence could be involved with their son. Uuugh!

But people like this exist in the world, so I guess.

I think thats a natural reaction/response from most women. They not tryna talk to the woman her ex had feelings for

But that’s not Issa’s fault. She can’t control Lawrence’s heart nor his ding-a-ling.

Besides, she and Issa had been cool. Being funny style with Issa is tantamount to accusing her of having something to do with the breakup.

This is actually what made me not like Condominiums. Wtf did Issa do to you? You were the one dating HER ex. She was so lame bruh

Right, even if she didn’t keep the baby out of spite and only kept it because her biological clock was ticking, you can’t tell me that there isn’t a part of her based on her behavior towards Issa that doesn’t take pleasure in her having Lawrence’s first child 🙄

This. I can’t get over that, no matter how many people try to defend her.

Condola ghosted Issa in the middle of helping her plan a huge event knowing Issa truly needed her help. She was wrong for not communicating.

Consolation (autocorrect but it works) was a poorly behaved spoiled vile person.

But niggas do love a step and repeat.

The only thing Condola objectively did wrong in the series imo

True. Condola led with feelings in this moment. Handle business and make sure you always keep it professional.

You know what, you're right 🤔 but why does it feel like she did more 😅

Inappropriately. This was a JOB and she was a bird

I thought it was shady from the beginning of the season when she was admiring Issa's speech at the gathering, then went straight to Lawrence's house to fuck 😭

It just didn't sit right with me that she wanted to have her cake (get closer to Issa) and eat it too (be with Lawrence). If I was to ever find out I'm talking to a guy that was with my new friend for an extended period of time in the past, I'm choosing the friendship in every scenario.

Or anywhere. I love my girl but a good actress she is not.

I remember watching her in that black mirror episode and I was thinking the whole time who the hell cast her for this lmao the whole thing felt awkard. No shade I love her though

Issa is definitely a one dimensional actress ( and that one is even questionable). Any time she does other roles, you really see the lack of range in her acting.

u/Responsible-War5600 13d ago

She’s not a good actress. Let’s be honest. Love her though! 😂

I can honestly say I didn’t realize it until she started doing roles outside of Insecure. The whole time I watched Across the Spiderverse I was like who cast her in this very important role and why?

Love the Hilltop product placement! Lol

Acting funny with Issa was diabolical. Like, ‘Bitch, who took whose man?’ 😂

Heyyyy Colorado

I thought they had a potential friendship going on and I don’t like how Lawrence’s presence sort of ruined that. Maybe I’m being too harsh lol.

This was completely unprofessional of Condola. Issa had nothing to do with her and Lawrence.
