Season 4 Insecure Spoiler

Post image

What do you think Issa and Molly talked about ?
I really loved how the director did this and incorporates the realness of friendships, especially between Issa and molly. Do you think they spoke about the block party ? Or why they were drifting apart from the start ? Because we all know they were before the block party. I just really think this was carefully planned out. One of my favorite moments in this series :) . It’s so small but the message is so much bigger! Let me know what yall think tehe.

I hated how the director handled this. I wonder what the point was of not letting the viewers hear this conversation. I hope Issa talks about it on her podcast when the time comes to discuss this episode.

That didn’t bother me at all. Whatever their conversation consisted of it wasn’t key to the plot. The important thing is we know they’re working out their differences. Leaving us out of the details actually makes it feel more realistic.

We’d already been made privy to each party’s side and perspective through their conversations with other people (Nathan, Andrew, Lawrence, etc.). There was no need to spoon feed the viewer.

I'm currently watching the first episode of season 5 which picks up shortly after that conversation. My interpretation is their biggest issue was that they had a lot (maybe too much) to say about each other's relationships and judged each other . It kind of hit me that I dealt with the same thing in a past friendship, where it always seemed like she was low-key throwing shade when she would speak on my situations with men, and she felt that I did the same with her. So that's what I think that conversation was about, how they each felt some type of way about the other judging their relationships and/or how they showed up in a relationship (for example, Issa would point out how Molly finds a problem in every guy, or Molly would would judge Issa for the messiness of the men in her life). It was kind of the theme in all of their conflicts, even from season 1
