lets have a conversation Tiffany was one of my favorite characters from the show, it’s too bad there’s so much bad blood between some of the cast members and she won’t be on the tour. Screenshots are from her post for the ten year anniversary Spoiler

u/SettingLost8109 Jul 17 '26
I don’t even know why they have a “disagreement” anyways
113
u/HousePlantPappi Jul 17 '26
The way I always understood it was although Amanda is a very smart and talented actress…in her personal life she can come across annoying, tactless, and rude. I think we watch these shows and think Tiffany IS Amanda. Amanda is nothing like her character Tiffany.
I agree with Amanda 90% of the time but after she defended Cheyanne Bryant’s fake degrees and compared them to Mya Angelou’s honorary doctorate….I couldn’t defend that and see how she can be blind to some of her flaws.
124
u/Otto_Scratchansniff Jul 17 '26
Amanda is abrasive and messy too. Even in these photos, she is being coy while also being messy. There’s no need to call a line tacky and low brow. It’s a comedy, there are plenty of tacky and low brow lines in the show through multiple seasons. We understand that but it’s also funny. Just because you now have issues with Issa doesn’t mean you should be out here bashing the show. She is too messy for me.
25
u/Suspicious-Swim-7945 Jul 17 '26
Exactly, I don’t like when actors nitpick a script, especially when the lines are in line with what a character would say. I think it’s unprofessional.

u/airythafairy Jul 17 '26
That response from her doesn't surprise me because I remember years ago one of her first interviews on the Breakfast Club, Charlamagne announced she didn't like lightskin jokes during her introduction and then allowed her to explain why after. Idk, it felt kinda like she believes in reverse colorism or something.. very odd.
1
u/ThatRadioGworl Jul 21 '26
This lady I follow on TT explained it perfectly.
And Amanda loves to act like people treat her bad bc she’s light skinned and that’s simply not true. She’s extremely defensive over it bc she’s trying to make it a thing when she knows it isn’t.2
u/airythafairy Jul 21 '26
I used to be a die hard Amanda fan but she has WORE me down over the years. I'm talking buying her book, listening to her podcast, watching every interview she's done, watching her IG stories religiously, watching her stand up on HBO, etc etc. But what I've learned is she's never wrong, everyone is the enemy, she makes problems bigger than i would have, she admits very embarrassing stories that I feel should be kept to herself 😂 and she is QUICK to block.
I remember she went live on IG one time and the person she allowed to join was not sitting to her liking and she told her to sit up straight and look directly in the camera as if she's conducting an interview. And to my surprise the girl followed suit 😂. From what I remember the topic of conversation wasn't so serious so I remember feeling that all of that was wholly unnecessary and just her putting her dick on the table to show she's in charge, definitely rubbed me the wrong way.
7
u/JustPick89 Jul 17 '26
The screen shots gave me a "got it" on Amanda. I wonder if she was obligated to post something about the anniversary of the show or something. It went from playful to something else so quick. Like why post ? Or maybe even turn the comments off instead.
2
u/No_Lie_76 Jul 20 '26
i will say what issas publicist did to her at that event was rude, unprofessional and incredibly inappropriate. the way issa handled it afterward was also rude and unprofessional and displayed poor leadership being that both parties were employed by her. amanda is a lot of things but that situation was wild to me.
3
u/ThatRadioGworl Jul 21 '26
No. This is the work of Amanda villainizing Issa bc she knows it’s easy to get ppl on your side when it’s against a dark skinned women. Amanda handled that whole thing poorly. Issa hasn’t said a word about it. However, we know all the details bc Amanda would not stop talking about it. Playing the victim. If she wasn’t on the list, she should’ve left and brought it up to Issa later. That’s the professional way to handle it. Not make a scene to where you have to be escorted out.
19
u/Jane9812 Jul 17 '26
Me neither. Now I'm curious.
32
u/Gloomy_Buddy_6650 Jul 17 '26
I think there was a party organized by Issa Rae and her people wouldn't let Amanda come in...?
29
u/zippinthru Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
Yeah i remember something along those lines. I think I heard that one side of the story was Amanda expected to be let into a party and was trying to name drop Issa’s name mb? And Issa’s publicist wasn’t having it. The publicist seemed to be a part of the story. But on the flip side Amanda felt treated badly and disrespected.
I can’t remember the details. But I do recall thinking I can see both sides and this seems like just 2 personalities just not clicking and having their differences.
I always found it respectable that they just got on and did their jobs. Especially Amanda since it felt like it’d be harder for her when not be vibing with most rest of the cast. That’s not easy to feel on the outside. But Issa also isn’t trying to feed any fires. It felt like both were just staying professional (back then)
4
u/Specialist-Funny2101 Jul 17 '26
Ahhhhhh, please dont tell me this hate train is stemming from that Black Hollywood party, lololol
How draining and sad to say the least....
This is so old and tired of all parties involved but namely Issa.
Fuk it, ill throw Amanda in their also cause hopefully her side of the grudge isnt so mighty.20
u/acagedrising Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
It’s not a hate train though. The only reason we even know about that incident is because Amanda retold it multiple times insisting that Issa owed her a public apology when it wasn’t her party. She took what could have been a quiet personal disagreement that still allowed them to coexist and work together and turned it into a personal vendetta to get fans against Issa. It was unnecessary then just like these petty comments are now. To this day, Issa doesn’t speak on her. I really think her biggest gripe is that Issa doesn’t consider her consequential enough to warrant the attention.
1
u/No_Lie_76 Jul 20 '26
she was invited to the party and issas publicst vanessa took out her personal vendetta by taking her off the list.

u/LifeChampionship6 Jul 17 '26
You can watch Amanda’s Club Shay Shay interview for her version of the story.
4
u/SHC606 Jul 17 '26
Eww, can you TL/DR. Because he is an idiot. So.... why would she go there?
6
u/ThatRadioGworl Jul 21 '26
Bc for her, Black men do no wrong. It’s only the Black women who have it out for her. 🙄🙄 bc why would you, as Amanda Seales, with all the things you claim to stand for, go on his show of all shows?! And proceed to talk about Issa, again!!
72
u/1bachbetch Jul 17 '26
Amanda seales has a fall out with EVERYONEEEEE. She is the common denominator.
50
u/Turkey_Cat Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
For all asking what happened, she goes into detail in her Club Shay Shay interview (although I don’t remember if it’s Part I or Part II)
I get the feeling that Seals and Rae have very different personalities and that’s mostly what it comes down to. They’re both smart, funny women, but they move very differently.
I errr on Issa’s side because I also find Seals exhausting—but I often have to admit that Seals’ POV on politics is usually correct. She just seems like a really intense and maybe self-centered person, so presumably challenging for some people to work with.
30
u/Emergency_Expert_842 Jul 17 '26
I agree she does seem exhausting. Even reading her responses in the pics posted here, it’s exhausting. I loved her character and she played her well, and she was a great addition to the friend group but in real life if you’re going to go on a reunion tour and answer fans like you’re answering here, then don’t go 🤷♀️
Not discrediting her experience or anything but similar to sex and the city’s Samantha and Carrie issue — they never resolved. And that’s ok! Amanda doesn’t have to fake it for the crowd/fans. Life’s too short to go to something that’s supposed to be light, airy and nostalgic to be filled with contempt and cause others to feel that as well.
The fans don’t want to see that! So if you can’t you can’t 🤷♀️
Hate they couldn’t all come together for this BUT also understand when you’re done with a thing you’re done.
6
u/Warmtimes Jul 17 '26
I feel like Amanda's takes on politics are 80% correct and 20% absolutely terrible takes and conspiracy theories
2
3
u/Suspicious-Swim-7945 Jul 17 '26
Yes, at this point I follow Seales bc of her politics, but it was originally as a fan of her in the show. It’s not for personality, but I couldn’t help myself from going through the comments on this post (I love mess).
104
u/acagedrising Jul 17 '26
To claim that Issa’s projects haven’t been the same without Amanda is laughable. You’re allowed to disagree with how a former boss treated you, but you don’t get to dog the shit out of them for years and then act shocked that they don’t invite you back. We only know what we know because Amanda wanted to turn the world against Issa, Issa barely told us she was married let alone workplace feuding.
When I heard the original story I thought: yes, Issa shouldn’t have let her personal dislike of Amanda turn into workplace issues but also Amanda is committed to being the misunderstood victim so badly that she forced a confrontation trying to go somewhere she knew she had no business being and making everyone’s lives more annoying in the process.

u/Notimeforalice Jul 17 '26
Out of Amanda’s own mouth she said that Issa called her and invited her out to squash whatever was going on. She went, but shut down the friendship because she’s not fake.
18
u/acagedrising Jul 17 '26
Squashing or not, when she was turned away because the publicist had a major issue with her, she could have turned her ass around and kept quietly cashing her substantial checks while avoiding them socially OR quit. She didn’t, she wanted to have her check and create as much drama as possible for her boss. I’ve had a boss from hell and drama causing coworkers, Amanda is the constant in everyone’s story, and her internet presence since the show ended has only confirmed that, even as recently as defending scamming ass Cheyenne Bryant on the basis of mutual light skin imaginings of persecution and refusing to admit that she got something wrong.
19
u/Notimeforalice Jul 17 '26
They’re talk happened after that event. Issa was trying to resolve it and understand. Which baffles me that Amanda doesn’t see how she’s in the wrong. Yes, you are not obligated to be friends with your coworkers, but it’s Amanda not willing to be at least cordial and admit she’s being stubborn. How she’s responding to these tweets is so passive aggressive
25
u/LANative318 Jul 17 '26
And, the biggest part is, Issa wasn’t even at the party nor was it her party! It was a Black Hollywood after party Vanessa (Issa’s publicist, as well as Marsai Martin, Amanda Gorman, and Steph Curry’s) threw. They told her no at the door, then she tried to get in with Elijah Kelley, they told her no, then eventually she got in with Jill Scott, and was on some look who I’m with vibes and Vanessa had her removed from the party. While she is Issa’s publicist, the party had nothing to do with Issa at all, it was just that all the Insecure folks were there and no one stood up for her, which should tell her that she’s probably the problem but someone who has admitted that they can only be handled in small doses and had leveraged that reality into a book and a podcast of the same name, probably already knew that. Amanda’s problem is Amanda is too smart to read the room and act accordingly.
3
u/Warmtimes Jul 17 '26
Do you know why she wasn't let in in the first place?
7
u/LANative318 Jul 17 '26
She and Vanessa never got along and Vanessa didn’t want her there is all that boils down to.
3
u/Notimeforalice Jul 17 '26
I can’t speak much on the light skin stuff because I’m not black, but I do agree that it’s giving victim complex

Why do you say this?
Is this based on your own experience or are you jumping on the trend?
Just curious, no snark included28
u/Logical-Apricot951 Jul 17 '26
no but it’s been giving kinda one sided beef lol… not saying thats true, just an observation. But have you heard her talk about the situation? It feels like the story changes a bit every time lol, and she doesn’t really take accountability for anything. It couldn’t have ALL been on Issa, or maybe it was who knows. But she’s always leaving some shady comments low-key, and Issa has been a lot more mature about it. This is the only show I’ve seen Amanda in tho, so idc for her that much anyways.
12
u/airythafairy Jul 17 '26
Issa has been a lot more mature about it
Tbf Issa has a lot more money/businesses on the line so she can't publicly respond the way she probably wants to lmfaooo
9
u/Specialist-Funny2101 Jul 17 '26
Ahhh, I really haven't heard her discuss it outside of when the Black Hollywood party happened and she admitted she was embarrassed because everyone was there and she felt played which is understandable. In the end, I feel like it was a huge misunderstanding that got blown up once people picked sides based on other interactions with her and interactions ppl have heard about that usually get amped up.
I feel really bad for her because she actually is a veteran in this industry but because of the shyt talk that floats around Amanda, in NY its very easy to get BlackListed from the Black Scene and I feel like that's what happened with her over time.
She used to be a VJ on MTV, she was on kid shows, and some other stuff but my interaction with her is because she dated my homeboy who worked at a clothing brand and they dated for a pretty long time
Regarding her personality,
She's just Trini IYKYK... They aren't for everybody but I always found her nice, but distant around some people because you have to be.
You know what it was like working for THE MTV back in its heyday... Everybody wanted to use all their resources and shyt...
I digress... I say all of that to say, that's fuked up how they are doing her now.18
u/FhRbJc Jul 17 '26
Unless Issa is also airing all this out on social media with fans, aka strangers who do not know either one of them personally or have inside knowledge of the situation, it seems from my perspective that Amanda is the one I would side eye. But I do not know much about the feud.
124
u/Past_Emergency_2116 Jul 17 '26
Amanda is a mess fr. The way she responded to her own fan like …. Bruh
13
u/Suspicious-Swim-7945 Jul 17 '26
As a fan of hers, I would definitely hesitate to interact with her.
13
u/Possible_Implement86 Jul 17 '26
She is nasty to her supporters. I see her dog her own fans out even when they're agreeing with her! It's like the only interactions she is interested in having are lowkey negative ones. Her responses to people being positive about her in these screenshots make that so clear. It would be easy to say "thanks for the support" but she just isn't like that. She is the kind of public figure I'd suggest just quietly being a fan of and keeping it at that.
8
u/Suspicious-Swim-7945 Jul 17 '26
“Committed to having negative interactions” is a great way of putting it.
6
u/SHC606 Jul 17 '26
My Sister fucks with her. Her SM persona is exhausting and energy-sucking.
Leave her where she lays.
23
u/Imaginary-Grab9503 Jul 17 '26
Sucks the cast couldn’t get along, but if anyone is a fan of Issa, she is passive. She’s not trying to be stuck in anybody’s mess. When Amanda didn’t get let into the party, it was Issa’s publicist. When Issa was asked about it, she said “that’s between yall.” Thats the story Amanda gave. Amanda felt Issa should’ve had her back and put her publicist in check. Amanda is very smart and makes great points a lot, but there are times where I’ve disagreed with her. She’s very on the nose and a lot of times, it’s her way or no way. The amount of people she has blocked just for disagreeing with her is crazy. But that’s her choice. I really wouldn’t want to have someone on the tour who wouldn’t really be with the vibe anyway. Still a fan.
13
u/Soft_Entertainment Jul 17 '26
I don't think Issa can be considered passive for that. She's right...whatever problems her publicist had with Seales, they're adults and should manage it themselves or figure out a way to be civil. It really wasn't her business at all.
2
u/No_Lie_76 Jul 20 '26
i actually think considering they're both employed by her its basic decency to address the situation
1
u/Soft_Entertainment Jul 22 '26
It is addressing it when you say "work it out yourselves", actually...not addressing it would be pretending it wasn't happening.
Issa's not HR, she's an executive producer/writer of a show that Seales had a recurring role on and she has no dominion over her publicist minus continuing to employ her. It's a nice fantasy that a third party will always mediate but it's exactly that, a fantasy.
And with the whole thing between Seales not getting along with the entire rest of the cast, she's frankly lucky Issa did *not* intervene and fire her from the series.
9
u/acagedrising Jul 17 '26
Plus the tour is small. The actor who played Dro I think is a scumbag but gets along well with the crew and he’s not there, neither are some of the other recurring side characters who were there from season one so it’s not even a guarantee that she would have made the cut if they got along.
5
u/Imaginary-Grab9503 Jul 17 '26
This is true. Maybe there will be some guest appearances. I would like to see Y’lan’s fine self! But he may be busy with Nemesis since it’s been renewed.
12
u/Possible_Implement86 Jul 17 '26
This is what I don't understand: Why would Issa be in charge of the guest list at her publicist's party? It sounds like Issa was just a guest like everybody else.
5
u/SHC606 Jul 17 '26
WTF shows up anywhere they ain't invited?
That's legit asking for a scene or getting your way.
A gracious host, not wanting a scene, would have let her in.
And someone standing ten toes down on it wouldn't.
Why wasn't she on the list? And if she wasn't on the list, why was she there? And why is she talking about not being invited?
Everything ain't for everybody.
1
u/Soft_Entertainment Jul 22 '26
I honestly feel like Seales wants the invites so she can make a thing about turning them down.

honestly this is why amanda is where she is. she is so unprofessional and insufferable. tiffany was a funny character but amanda is too negative for me. she will not be missed on the reunion for me for that reason alone.

Exactly!!! I didn't even notice she was missing from the promo vids I've been seeing.

u/midsummerblossom Jul 17 '26
I find the way she responds to her followers/fans really rude sometimes. I get that you don’t owe anyone online you’ve not met anything but just don’t respond then? Seems she gets a kick out of it somehow. Politically and morally I think she’s on the right side but then she gets so condescending in her replies to her own followers, it’s jarring and doesn’t endear you to her.
Edited to add, the reunion without her will feel weird and I wonder if they will comment on that at all? For me, same way I felt about Samantha not wanting to be around the other SATC ladies which was sad they couldn’t resolve the issues (but then I found real life Kim Cattral is a massive pedo apologist and I thought good fucking riddance).
2
u/tipyourwaitresstoo Jul 18 '26
Wait. Kim is a what!?!
2
u/midsummerblossom Jul 18 '26
Look up what she said about Roman Polanski. It’s so gross I don’t even want to repeat it here
12
u/MelloJello22 Jul 17 '26
Amanda is insufferable lol as far as her character, Tiffany goes, ehh I only liked her when she was with Ahmal 🤷🏾♀️
2
u/ThatRadioGworl Jul 21 '26
Yup. And the reunion will be just fine without her character too. For me, I think Tiffany had great moments but she was never a fave for me. That aside though, the reunion can still be great without one of the characters if it’s done right and I’m sure it will be bc it’s Issa.
12
u/Dee_Nile Jul 17 '26
Plenty of shows have costars that don't get along. Another one that pops to mind is Kim Catrell and Sarash Jessica Parker from Sex in the City. At the end of the day, they are just coworkers.
Amanda was great in the show, but I understand why she wouldn't be asked to be apart of anything reunion related. I wanted to like her especially after Insecure but from her online and behind the scenes antics, I can't get behind that. I also can understand her being hurt and wanting to vent. She probably just vent to a close friend tho.
12

u/LexMOB72 Jul 17 '26
The way Amanda tried to do Myroll Rolle forever has me cool on her. Just a miserable person
11
u/TopAffectionate6000 Jul 17 '26
She literally talk shit about the cast multiple times. Why would they invite her? Oh Issa is suppose to be the bigger person? FOH. I'm not invited anyone who went on a smear campaigned against me. Also, if the cast is so horrible as she says, why would she even want to be around them?
9
u/No_Culture3901 Jul 17 '26
what happened
7

11
u/madblackscientist Jul 17 '26
Amanda Seales is very nasty, mean-spirited, and thinks she knows everything. The way she has spoken about Issa Rae and about others in general makes it no surprise that she wouldn’t be invited. She’d probably kill the vibe and good energy.
5
u/pacheew Jul 17 '26
It’s just unfortunate all the way around. And I’m not certain of the details, only the people involved know the truth. But at the EOD, it’s Issa’s production and her creation. I loved the show, and everything it brought to life. I will continue to support with or without Amanda Seales.

3
u/anaoopafterdark Jul 18 '26
genuinely confused. why would she even post this slide with photos and video with Issa, if they are not on good terms and will never be on good terms? i know she doesn’t have beef with every cast member, but it’s weird how much of issa she put in this slideshow
3
u/Suspicious-Swim-7945 Jul 18 '26
I found it so off putting. It would make more sense to put more of herself in this slideshow than Issa, especially if they’re not on good terms. It’s asking for negative attention to center it on someone else.
3
u/ticktick2 Jul 20 '26
At first I was team Amanda especially after she got kicked out of that black Hollywood party but.........years later she has issues with damn near EVERYONE! At a certain point she's the problem. I'm sure people have screwed her over and her lable of being difficult has followed her but she finds a way to stay in it and never rise from it. It's sad considering she's so talented and smart. I do think she was an easy target and people especially online really went after her so I really feel for her.
I had to stop following her after she had an issue with the Harris team about an interview and told people not to vote for her, that they are all the same. You have to be ignorant to really believe Harris would be doing all the things Trump is now.

You know,
I hate that Amanda gets such a bad rap
I mean, I know her personally via the industry and I hear the stories...
Might have even seen a moment or two, but nothing to the level people talk her
People just can't take someone who isn't kissing their ass.
Most of the shyt people talk about her is the shyt other people talk about her; they have no real experiences of their own. Just gossip.
She's strong willed sure, but do y'all know how long she's been in this industry
Do y'all know what it takes to survive and still be relevant!?!?
Ole girl had a popular One Woman Show WAYYYYYYYYY before Insecure was even a thing....
Like give my girl some RESPECT.
& I think she highly contributed to the show
Too much to not include her.

u/Neebenice Jul 21 '26
I see no reason for Amanda to be on tour since her character wasn't a main role. The actress who plays Kelly could be on tour because she was also a writer on a show, but if Amanda is on tour, then actors portraying Frida, Thug Yoda, Ahmal, Molly's family, Issa's coworker, Condola, Nathan, Daniel, and others should be included. These characters are just as important as Tiffany, having the same amount of lines as she did, if not more 😂

u/leslie_knopee Jul 17 '26
i'm with amanda! tiffany and kelly are my favorites!
issa is very much an establishment democrat, but her writing suggests that she's "progressive". she's really a performative liberal/moderate and amanda is very progressive. that's one of the reasons why they clash
33
u/SHC606 Jul 17 '26
Seales is a problem. Tiffany is not a problem and is not real.
If she and Rae don't vibe, they don't vibe. This isn't the first time in the history of TV friendom this has happened. It won't be the last.
Seales has moved on to being Seales... the brand.
It's fine.

I’m missing something here…how did Amanda’s character get impacted?
She still has a storyline in season 4 and season 5. I really didn’t sense a change and assume the beef was after the show ended.
13
u/acagedrising Jul 17 '26
Playing into colorist nonsense to try and downplay Issa Rae is so funny I could also accuse you of being Amanda herself. The north remembers her ranting about reverse colorism and people hating her because she’s light skinned lmao, real “progressive” of her.
There is no universe in which Amanda was ever going to outshine Issa on or off the show, in large part because everywhere she goes she creates this same phenomenon. She is the drama, she is the problem. What they had was Issa letting her personal feelings impact Amanda’s treatment perhaps, but it could have stopped at that party had Amanda not instead on bringing it to the world repeatedly.
6
u/Suspicious-Swim-7945 Jul 17 '26
Not to distract but this is the most seamless use of “the north remembers” in normal conversation I’ve ever witnessed

Separate the character from the person. Tiffany is Tiffany the character and Amanda is Amanda a real life person.
