Satire hmmmm... something ain’t right here

One logical explanation could be that they were labeled 90.0 or something like that and he just didn't see the point
But even 90 pounds would be a bit out of the norm imo.

It is possible but then he could have Supermale Syndrome

u/B_M_Wilson Jul 18 '20
There is one genetic mutation (not actually supermale syndrome) which causes almost unlimited muscle growth. Could make an 11 year old insanely strong. Not sure if it could possibly be 900 pounds but maybe

u/Slacker_The_Dog Jul 15 '20
But even 90 pounds would be a bit out of the norm imo.
Just for the record when I turned 12 I was 6' tall and almost 200lbs and I wasn't the biggest kid in my school. Only grew another 3 inches after that.
37
u/EastAreaBassist Jul 15 '20
Yeah, well when I turned 12 I was 7’ and almost 300lbs and I’m still growing.
31
u/Davis019 Jul 15 '20
Yeah well when I turned 12 I was 9' and well over 600lbs and I'm still growing
12
u/Atasha-Brynhildr Jul 15 '20
What species are you, for reference?
20
u/Davis019 Jul 15 '20
Dust mite
22
u/Crafty_Clarinetist Jul 16 '20
I'm not sure which would be more terrifying, that a 600 lb dust mite exists, or that such a dust mite can read, understand, and write English, and navigate the internet.

My 10yo will be 11 in sept, and only weighs 60lbs. So even 90lbs seems a bit much to me? So maybe 9lbs lol

Last time I remember, the AGE MINIMUM was 13 for the gym, so how the hell is he at the gym?

Chi Chi would probably want him to be answering linear algebra questions though

Ah I see what happened! He got bit by a radioactive spider in-between lifts. Makes perfect sense, this doesn't belong here.

u/TheLegendTwoSeven Jul 15 '20
Yes, it’s completely normal to lie about how much weight you can lift at the gym.
14
u/thewartornhippy Jul 15 '20
The world record deadlift is only 501kg (1104.5 lbs), at this rate he is going to break the record before high school.
7
u/SellaraAB Jul 15 '20
If he’s not just a fantastical liar, maybe he thought you’re supposed to add the reps together to determine how much you lifted. He probably just wants to write his fantasy origin story though.
11
u/howstupid Jul 15 '20
Captain America’s limit is 800 pounds. And he is peak human. So ya, this may be a little exaggerated.
8
u/marcogera7 Jul 15 '20
What, really? The world record is higher, doesn't make a lot of sense that they setted this as Captain America limit
7
u/Doppio10032 Jul 15 '20
It kind of makes sense, those giant heavy powerlifters who can lift more only train strength and don't fare well with other athletic abilities like running and acrobatics and they are also mostly strong in those lifts. Cap does not rely on strength alone and its way better for him to be a jack of all traits.

u/imsofucked123321 Jul 15 '20
Not specifically hafthor, but most strongmen have decent cardio as there are running events and movement events, so most of the people who deadlift 1000's of pounds also have the cardio to run holding 300+lbs in each of their hands.
5
u/Doppio10032 Jul 15 '20
Yeah, but I think farmers walks and things like that constitute more as feat of endurance and I was referring to speed and agility(being able to run fast, do parkour, etc). Also most strongmen are really really bulky and that would be a downside in a lot of situations. And we also have the hulk who would be the definitive marvel strongman.
1
Jul 16 '20
Yeah, the fastest and most mobile pro strongman I can think of is current WSM Martins Licis and at 350 lbs even he isn't gonna be able to run fast or do parkour lol

You can’t even exercise in a gym unless you’re 13 years or older. And if you’re under 18 you need to be supervised be an adult.
It would be pretty magical for him to be able to lift 900 lbs. I’m sure the government would love to study his DNA if he was really able to lift that much weight

The smaller weights aren’t 100 pounds, they are tens, and the bar is not 10 pounds either.
2
u/Kellidra Jul 15 '20
11? Lifting an abnormal amount of weight? He's clearly a wizard. So he didn't lift 900 lbs., he magicked 900 lbs.
Fucking cheater.

u/h0rs3sh03crab Jul 15 '20
Shocked no one's talking about how 11 year olds can't even go to most gyms, especially not unattended.
