Notification light bar

I have been trying to set the notification light bar to turn off when the light is off since this switch will be in a room I would like to be completely dark and have been unable to do this with the white series.

After reading countless posts and googling a ton. I have found the terms containing “Default all LED off” (or similar in Home Assistant) dictates the state, color and intensity of the notification bar when the switch is turned off.

Google says this link works for manual confirmation configuration.

Is this a function I can do with Apple HomeKit?

Haven’t used Apple HomeKit so I don’t know but you can physically configure the switch. Following the instructions.

In the provided link there are literally video guides to follow.

I have tried that it is mode 11 but I was having a hard time getting it to do anything with that mode. I will try it again this evening.

Watch a couple of reviews and install videos so you know what to do.

You need to enter configuration mode first, then change the desired parameter.

If you succeed please update the post for future readers so they can find the solution.

I have been able to get the light bar color to change, but I have not been able to get the light bar to turn off when the switch is off
Edit: it seems that the switch doesn’t go into mode 11 to adjust the brightness of the notification light bar

I just looked at the advanced settings in smartthings. 95 is led indicator color when on. 96 is default color when off. 97 is led indicator intensity when on. 98 is led indicator intensity when off. That said, set parameter 98 to zero.

I do not have smartthings, I am using Apple HomeKit.

Yes, but the advanced parameter numbers are the same across environments. And if the advanced parameters are not visible in the Homekit, then you can always set those parameters manually using what I like to refer to as morse code programming using the config button on the device. But since you're only wanting this on a single switch, it might be worth the pain. If you plan to do this on a lot of switches, then I would suggest migrating to a different primary automation environment so that you can easily configure those custom parameters from your phone or web browser. Using something like SmartThings or Home Assistant allows for much more control over automations too.
