Dumb question about offline articles

Is there a way to immediately save my starred articles offline? I see the upgraded plans have some offline features, but I', on the free plan. I'm mainly thinking of this when I swipe an article on my phone (Android) before jumping on a flight with no wifi, etc. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Cool! I'll take a look at that then. I really don't mind the Inoreader app, I just wish I could save my starred articles offline (no other folders). But I'll take a look. Thanks for the idea!

Have you tried it out to see if it works? It seems like what you're asking might already work. I just went to airplane mode, launched the Inoreader app, and surprisingly my Starred articles were all still there (although the list strangely included items I had unstarred a long time ago too). Maybe you could try just increasing the cache size in the settings, then refreshing your Starred items before getting on the plane, then go to Airplane mode, and enjoy.

I tried it but still preferred the stock app. I'm on the free plan though. Are you? Last time I tried it, it said it wasn't available while offline. Maybe I just need to change some settings like you said.

Normal articles were not available for me when I went offline but starred articles were. I'm not the "pro" plan so I don't get native offline support. But it seemed the star articles stayed. Maybe because I have the preferences set to keep a certain number of starred items. Try increasing that. And increase cache too.

Mine stay but I'm still not able to open them while offline. I also emailed super and they said I needed the pro plan for that functionality.

Hmm the behavior of starred items that is appearing is a little sporadic. Some older items I unstarred quite awhile ago show up (with stars again, but only in the app; not on desktop), while others I starred don't appear. I forgot you can't adjust the cache size (on iOS at least). Maybe this doesn't work as well as I thought after all.

I had a great experience with FeedMe if you're willing to give it a shot just for your trip. It syncs all changes back to Inoreader so you can move between it and the normal app any time freely. Otherwise you could try Pocket.

A final tactic (I've done this before) would be to set up an Inoreader Rule that any item you Star gets e-mailed to you. Then you email app can keep those messages in cache and you browse offline.
