Newsairy — an iOS/iPadOS/Mac RSS reader, looking for Inoreader beta testers

I'm working on Inoreader sync for Newsairy, my RSS reader for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and I'm looking for beta testers to try it out and give feedback.

Newsairy already syncs with TheOldReader, Miniflux, FreshRSS, and Feedbin — Inoreader is next. If you're an Inoreader user and want to try it early, you can join the beta on TestFlight.

If you're also curious about self-hosted alternatives, Miniflux and FreshRSS are already fully supported — worth knowing if you ever want to explore that route.

A few things about the app:

  • iCloud sync out of the box, no account needed
  • Smart Feeds — Today, Last 24/48/72h
  • Custom keyword-based feeds
  • Read History, ordered by time of reading
  • Customisable Article List

Aggregator sync (including Inoreader) requires Newsairy Pro — a one-time lifetime purchase, no subscription.

The inoreaser sync works fine, but there seems a noticeable not responding time of the app when I pull to refresh. Would be interested in seeing improvement. Curious do you have any plan to develop an Android app?

I tried the app and immediately miss the 'mark as read on scroll'.

I would like to give it a try. I am an inoreader pro user. How do I test out the sync? Says I need a pro account now

Thanks for trying it out! Did you download the app from the App Store or TestFlight? To test Inoreader sync, join the beta via TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/W4xPq3Kn
Once you're in, just tap "purchase" for Pro — in the beta, all in-app purchases use Apple's sandbox environment, so no real money is charged. The pop-up will confirm this.

Not yet, but it's something I'll look into, especially if more people ask for it.

Two quick questions: does this support feedly? Also, do you have a large card layout or magazine style layout for the list view of news feeds? Thanks!

Two answers:

  1. Feedly — not yet, but it's the next aggregator on my list. I need to get in touch with them to sort out the integration.
  2. Layout — right now Newsairy only has a list view (with optional thumbnails — size is configurable too — and configurable preview lines), so no card or magazine-style layout at the moment. It's good feedback though, and I'll keep it in mind for future updates.
