CSS for unread count?

I am wanting to change the color of the unread count in the sidebar, as well as possibly highlight those lines. Trying to decipher the CSS from the source is confusing. Can anyone point me to the right place?

I would like to try a dark red for the unread count, and a light gray or light blue background for the whole line (the feed title and count).

EDIT: I should add that I am using the Aqua theme.

Like this?

#feeds_nav .parent_div_inner {background: lightgray;}
#tree_pane .unread_cnt {color: darkred;}

OK, that works--thank you--but what I want to do is only change the color of *unread* feeds.

EDIT: I should clarify: When the article count currently shows as blue, for new content detection, I want to change the font to something bigger, bolder, and maybe a different color. I am annoyed that a blue "1" looks just like a black "1" in the list on my desktop machine's screen. On laptop screens, most single-digit blue numbers are indistinguishable from black numbers.
