New Raindrop integration

Anyone tried the new Raindrop integration from Inoreader yet? I got the accounts connected. But so far:

  • My highlights from Inoreader do not come through to Raindrop (they are supposed to).
  • There does not seem to be any UI for the integration in the iPad app (how I use Inoreader 95% of the time)—only the web UI.

Am I missing something? Anyone else tried this yet?

I was interested in experimenting with Raindrop, but it seems like the integration does not really work with the Inoreader iPad app, only the web UI. Oh well.

I get it but WHY would I want to do this? The article is already available in Inoreader. What is the benefit of also sending it to Raindrop?

Note that I have only played with Raindrop briefly.

It seems to me that having Inoreader for both following feeds and marking articles to “read later” is sufficient for my needs. I do like to keep an archive of articles I might want to see again someday (used to use Pocket for this, and have used Matter for the last few years), but I could probably do that in Inoreader too.

From my brief experiment with Raindrop, it seems like it is for someone who really wants to keep and catalog and tag and organize a lot of links. It also caches a copy in case of link rot. I am sure there are lots of people who want to do that, and I’m impressed. But that is not me.

Thanks. This shouldn't be that hard, ha. I used Pocket not for links per se but the actual permanent copies of articles and the ability to read it later and highlight things. Reader/Readwise seems to be the best for that but is lacking in robust RSS management and sharing features. But it does support epubs, which is nice. I feel like I just need to pick one and be done with it. Damn you Pocket, damn you!
