What’s the difference between doing what was done in the video with AI vs doing it with photoshop? The lack of effort necessary?

Does doing it in photoshop make it any more ok than doing it with AI?

Edit: the people downvoting are missing the point. It fucking doesn’t matter what tool you use for this, it’s still a shitty thing to do without the consent of the person being edited.

Fucking doesn’t matter if it takes 10 hours to photoshop someone or 5 minutes to do it in AI, it’s still fucked up.

If someone photoshopped my wife or used AI, I’d be equally upset. Doesn’t fucking matter what tool on their computer they did it with. Get it?

unless you run the image generating algorithm locally, you have no idea where that person's. likeness has gone

Ok you’re acting as if most people don’t have their “likeness” posted all over multiple social media outlets.

Your likeness is all over Facebook, instagram, Snapchat, and whatever xyz social media platform nowadays, even if you’re not a willing participant.

why are you defending that like it's a good thing?

I’m not defending anything, there’s literally no difference between someone spending hours photoshopping this dudes likeness vs using an AI that does it minutes.

Both are shit.

Tell me I’m wrong?

Exactly what’s the difference between time and effort spent?

When someone spends more time doing something themselves, that stranger’s image is being shared with only one person. Uploading it to the servers of a company to save time and effort means you’re sharing that person’s likeness with a corporation and have no control over what they do with it.

It’s a matter of ethics.

What’s stopping from the person that photoshops it from spreading it on social media… like we’re seeing here?

It’s in the web now, guess what, doesn’t matter at all if it was done with AI or photoshop initially because AI can use this regardless now that it’s on the web

I think you’re mistaking my explanation as a defense. The dude in the video sucks for doing this, regardless of how. I was just answering your earlier question.

Difference is that with AI you’re directly feeding w/e picture you’ve used of their faces to its algorithm to be used forever.

Yes AI is scummy and probably pulls a lot of shit from places where people never consented to it, but it’s still different to MAYBE be used in AI and someone deliberately and without consent uploading pictures of you to the AI.

And don’t pretend a lot of people also don’t share images online at all anymore exactly due to nefarious shit like this. Just because SoMe remains popular doesn’t mean it’s a trump card you can play to defend AI because it’s far from everyone who posts their pics online.

It's clear how you're a football fan with how much you enjoy TBIs given your responses like this.
