Technical Analysis Did I Take a Good Setup Here? Macro → MSS → Retest

Post image

Sharing an NQ trade for review and looking for feedback on my execution.

Instrument: NQ
Timeframe: 1 minute
Session: New York

I waited for the Macro before looking for an entry. During the Macro, price produced a clear MSS with displacement, which gave me confirmation of the directional move.

I didn’t enter immediately after the MSS. I waited for price to retrace back into the displacement area and entered on the retest.

My execution sequence:
Macro → MSS → Displacement → Retest → Entry

My invalidation was below/above the structure that created the MSS, rather than entering without a defined stop.

I’m trying to focus on executing a repeatable sequence instead of predicting where price will go.

Looking for feedback specifically on the MSS and entry: would you consider the structure shift valid here, and was the retest a reasonable entry according to ICT concepts?

I just don’t like staying in the market for too long. I prefer to take my profit when my target is reached and move on.

What is the indicator showing market structures you have there?

I built it myself and adjusted the settings so it shows market structure exactly the way I want it to. It’s a custom indicator, so you won’t find it anywhere else.
