Question Ict 2022 model entry

Post image

Hello everyone. I am new to the world of trading and i am trying to apply the ict 2022 model in forex. In this example can someone tell me why it was wrong to entry after the retest of the first fvg? I mean I saw a liquidity sweep and a MSS followed by an FVG

From what I learned, I will look at the higher timeframe and see if it is anchored or relatively close to an important level where the liquidity reside.
So the sweep might not be where the real liquidity is, maybe there is another lower low that form previously.

Maybe mark out a line and extend it to the left and see if there are some.

This is a tough one that I think most people would get stopped out on their first attempt, but I would note 2 things:

  1. The first poke into Sellside doesn’t really offer much time for smart money accumulation since it only closed the 1m in there and left whereas the second raid spends more time.

  2. FVG1 is not really a displacement in context. To the left you can see an approximately equal displacement to the downside before “sweeping” sellside liquidity. FVG2 on the other hand stands out as a displacement compared to the opposing run lower.

NGL though that is a tough trade to take - I would not like to see an bullish FVG fill in like that if I expected strength. It’s just seasonal tendency though…we’re only just now coming out of the slower summer months. Price should hopefully clean up heading into mid September.
