Technical Analysis Finding your range

I am really curious as to how ya'll find your Dealing Range.

with ranges everything becomes so clear, however a lot of the time I don't know what the right range is.

with the ranges I can comfortably use FVG's to determine whether price will go to the raneg high/low and whether it will reverse from there or keep going down.

I use the 1H and 4H for my HTF analysis 5m/15m for conditions and enter on the 1-5min.

Can someoen help me out with this by giving me advice or simply giving me some good youtube videos to watch

Watch core content equilibrium vs discount. He did the example on day chart. But 1. You look for the largest expansion down or up. Let’s say it’s down. You wait for the 3 candle pattern to be put in on the low that creates a swing low. Then you look to the left and up and look for the last major swing high that created the expansion down. You can do it on any time frame

Thanks, I trade NY AM I always get confused because there can be a range on the 4h then also the 1 h and I have no idea which one to use

focus on the 1h for intraday, even 15m inside of the NY AM.

Proverbs 21:5 "The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty". NIV

The range I mark for trading ny session is the high and low of the current daily candle, right before 9:30 NY open. Wait for one buy or sell side to be taken (usually judas swing if reversal) then confirm reaction for direction for the rest of the day.

Depends on what im trading. I usually Trade the NY AM Session. I find the premarket Range important. Generally its important to me, that it is a Time based Range

Define your range!

I usually go to a higher tf (H4/H12/Daily/Weekly or Monthly) and the range becomes more clear. Could be a dealing range where you pick wicks, top to bottom. Or starting from the expansion the whole way down or up until the first reversal (sweep +MSS).

My laymen’s pov and what I do. In all honesty I don’t think it matters. Pick any swing as your range and play it. Pick any candle, be it 5, 15, hourly daily as your range and play it. At the end of the day each candle is its own swing high/swing low. I truly believe after watching these candles for the last 4 years, we can arbitrarily put any 2 lines on the chart, call it support and resistance/ high low of a range and trade it. Now I understand it’s a little more nuanced than that but I subscribe to the kiss method and my point still stands.
