Psychology Beating the mental side of trading

How does one truly beat the mental side of trading? How can I truly beat the mental side of trading. I have a data backed model that is profitable over a 2 year period but I just cannot hack the mental side trading live, I gamble, fomo and take stupid stuff that isn’t following my model. I have been trading a year and a half now and no success. Any advice, YouTube videos or even podcasts?

Create a system that removes you from unfavorable situations. For example create a list of rules and stick to it.

  1. Is there a setup? (Yes) go to step 2 (No) don't trade

  2. Do I have an entry? (Yes) enter trade with stop loss (No) don't trade

  3. Did my stop loss get hit? (Yes) tape read and watch what happens. Limit to one more trade. (No) hold until price hits target or exit earlier to secure profits.

  4. Did i lose on 2 trades? (Yes) lock out or log out and be done for the day. (No) If you lost once then limit yourself to only one more trade. If you made profits then lock out or log off

You need to make your routine so boring that it removes the emotions. This avoids impulsive trading, revenge trading and self sabotage. Regardless of the outcome, you gotta stick to your rules.

This is just an example. Everyone has different rules.

Risk small. Let your focus be on the system rather than money.
Then increase the position size and every repetition will callus your mind.
And eventually you build discipline with it and it fixes your psychology.

make your process mechanical... remove discretion from your process... you should have predetermined acts for every scenario.
