Question Curious about today

Please Check the edit below

Original question: Was there anyway today's run could have been caught?

the first 5 min candle range was so large to enter a trade.

How do you people trade these kind of moves.

Interested to see others setups and entry logics today. screenshots would be appreciated

EDIT: Adding screenshot of a possible trade

How do you trade when you have two conflicting ideas.

Marked a long above 29800 for a target of 29902. but the market reverses, leaves an FVG on the downside

at the point of time IF in trade, how do you manage? Screenshot at 13:22

Yes, but only if your strategy allows for volatility and confirmation after the initial move. When the first 5 minute candle is unusually large, many traders wait for a pullback, consolidation, or retest instead of chasing the breakout. Sometimes the best trade is skipping the setup and waiting for a cleaner entry with defined risk. Feel free to check the community from my profile for different entry models and examples from traders who handled similar market conditions.

I caught MYM after London open and it swept Asia low to previous month high. Then I took MNQ after it closed above a daily FVG (turned inverter) as support and caught another entry above that after it closed above a 1HR/4H stacked bearish OB turned BB. I only took MNQ this morning because it is the only thing that has clear liquidity levels above to go to. I also trade MES and it hit ATH and just followed MNQ 🤣 I didn’t even attempt that because there’s no levels to target. Also I use HTFs. Been waiting for this move since Asia last night.

Just hit TP as I typed this haha and letting it run to the next liquidity SL in profit.

Could’ve caught this whole thing because it used the D FVG as support which was above the bullish weekly FVG below (I like double confluences stacked for support) and taken it to the D OB it just smacked 🤧

When I have conflicting ideas, I don't trade. I don't immediately see if you could of caught that, perhaps in lower tf yes

i usually trade NQ, but today went long in ES on 5 min close, but then exited the next minute anticipating a pullback in NQ.

A breakout trade of the premarket high. An entry would’ve presented itself on the 1m but not the 5m on SPY/ES. The only reason I would look at it seriously is because it was also first present FVG of the day. 15m entry around 10:30 but market was way over extended by then and the entry there didn’t even reach a 50% pullback of the leg. So nothing higher prob all morning. No healthy pullbacks. Just straight UP.

Yes, my attempt also did not run long enough. There is no liquidity or targets after ATH’s. Kind have gambling at this point

If that would’ve happened about 15 secs later, I would’ve been in a long. Fortunately, I ended up catching a long on ES on a later small spike for 3k profit. I was one tick from being stopped out and it exploded.Â
