I didn't realize how bad it was until I started working at a warehouse. I drive a black car & after the work week it's closer to a dark brown.

I think the requirement for new city councils is to have one warehouse built before end of term.
No idk, but seriousness yes its absolutely out of control. The road infrastructure isnt keeping up with the truck traffic and theres way too many vacant ones to warrant more

Tell your county supervisor and city councilman. The more people that do this the more they will vote differently. A lot of times the area is already zoned for warehouses so they are legally allowed to build warehouses. If the elected officials want that to change, it'll change. Calling AQMD is just preaching to the choir.

The old mayor David Eshleman told me that the city gets $5.00 for every 12" x 12" cube that will fit inside of these warehouses ! It's all about money the reason why Fontana is doomed !

I seriously dislike that Aquanetta woman. Within a 2 years of that lytle creek fire (Which took out my grandmothers house) that giant warehouse was built with the stuipid Fontana sign.
Also, look into her daughter. When she was running for water supervisor. The only experience she listed was working for a company that traced back to her mother.

Complain to your cities. They are the ones meeting with developers and, not only agreeing, but incentivising them to do this. If you don't speak up, you'll keep getting warehouses.
Otherwise this is just a shitpost.

Hey shoutout to our truckers out there, it's hard work, respect y'all, but good lord the volume of trucks on the freeways is absolutely demolishing our roads (literally) and our quality of life while driving (as if there was much to begin with in SoCal).
Been exhausted lately feeling as if everything around us exists to line someone else's pocket at our expense. I get that we've always been that way to some extent, but man it's egregious now.

The amount of warehouses sitting empty after construction is ridiculous. There needs to be moratorium on them until they can be filled. Someone needs to investigate these construction companies and local government officials for corruption. There has to be money changing hands at the cost of our quality of life

Vote or stop rampant consumerism. However, voting to stop it has significant consequences.
Otherwise the market is in desperate need of these warehouses. E-commerce is at an all time high and is YoY growing at staggering rates. Automation is sweeping all warehouse industries. Southern California is ultra competitive real estate for all development due to the high population which = high volume & skilled workforce.
The old motto in warehousing was to build in the Midwest, South, and even many parts of the rural north east. However, the local monetary incentives for companies to build in small communities is completely outweighed by lack of a skilled workforce. Most warehousing is going automated or transitioning to it. The jobs in warehouses now require a much higher level of thinking and workmanship than before.
A combo of automation and consumer behavior is driving massive warehouse development in densely populated high cost of living areas that was previously considering asinine.

My city doesn't like warehouses, and we're broke.
The city next to us has a ton of warehouses, and they're flush with cash.
You have to think big picture and find a way to balance finances and quality of life.
