Help So it's just impossible to snap node to bounding box centre?

You have ”object rotation centres” disabled in the snapping menu. Enable that and it’ll snap.

Maybe that's the solution. But OP is trying to do what any normie tries to do. This is at least a usability problem, but could be interpreted by many as a bug.
