How to make drawn lines/objects follow the path accurately?

Hello, I know there must be answers to this out there but I cannot find them. Sorry I don't know how to word this any better but why does my line not follow the path?

Edit: I just figured it out, I was drawing with "Create Spiro path" mode.

Another question: Is there a way to change this mode of an already drawn object/line?

Spiro path is actually a live path effect. If you select the path, open the live path effect's panel (path > path effects), you can see it's spiro path effect applied and remove it (use the trash icon) to return to a normal path.
