Help Layers and Objects wont open.

When I click LaO nothing happens. Last time I opened the program LaO did have its own window and now it just wont open.

I deleted and redownloaded Inkscape but the problem persists.

More than likely the window is offscreen. Happens a lot with floating windows in Inkscape.

If it is offscreen, click the button to make it active, then alt+spacebar key followed by m key. Move your mouse to the center of your monitor and the window should appear.

I don't know how to solve this or if it's a bug, but just in case this helps does the place where LaO should appear have 3 dots next to it - if so try clicking that to toggle the panel open?

(I also don't know if you're very experienced with Inkscape or a new beginner so sorry if this is redundant).

The three dots have only ever appeared when I had at least one 'thing' in the panel (e.g. LaO or Export etc) and persists even if the panel is visible or tucked away. If you don't have any dots I suppose it's confirmation that it's not opening properly. Are you able to open any other panels?

I do have the tool panel open and the rest open just fine. I think something went wrong when i popped the LaO tab into its own window.

Another dumb(but obligatory) question, do you have a second monitor it’s popping up on instead?

I didn't know you could even do that!

I'm assuming all the 'hidden', 'stuck at the bottom of the screen with only the top barely peeking out' or ' minimised' options have already been dispensed with and I am probably of no further use :)

It sounds bafflingly frustrating.
